Game Summaries for 01/24/26

 

V – Windsor Knolls 35   Boonsboro 33    In a game that came down to the final possession, the Windsor Knolls (WKMS) Wolverines relied on a strong first-half performance and clutch late-game scoring to defeat Boonsboro 35-33. 
The Wolverines jumped out to an early lead, finding their offensive rhythm quickly to outscore Brunswick 8-3 in the first quarter. Boonsboro controlled the second quarter and narrowed the lead by outscoring WKMS 7-3 in the second quarter. By halftime, Windsor Knolls maintained a narrow 11-10 lead. However, the third quarter saw a shift in momentum. Boonsboro's offense surged for 13 points, taking the lead. Entering the final quarter with the game at 23-18 in Boonsboro's favor, both teams traded baskets in a high-scoring finale. Windsor Knolls poured in 17 points in the fourth quarter, just enough to stay ahead of Brunswick’s 10-point effort and secure the two-point victory with Audrey Langham's basket with 8 seconds remaining.  
Kayliegh Golden led Windsor Knolls with 13 points, including 8 in the fourth quarter, and Ellie Schrer added another eight.  Boonsboro's Morgan Mousky led the game with 15 points and Caroline Plutadore added another 8 points for Boonsboro.

JV – Windsor Knolls 40  Boonsboro 9     Windsor Knolls hosted Boonsboro on Saturday afternoon and delivered a strong overall performance with balanced scoring and aggressive defense. From the opening tip, WK started with a fast paced style of play.  The first quarter ended with the Wolverines leading 16-0.  At the half  WK found themselves up 30-4.  Boonsboro kept fighting an some shots started to drop. After four quarters of play Windsor Knolls outlasted Boonsboro and the final was 40-9.   Boonsboro was led in scoring by Ellie Wiegand with 5 points and Delaney Slough, Atleigh Tolder each had two points.  Windsor Knolls top scorers were Megan Crowell and Chloe Merriwether each with 10 points. Rylie Motes had 5 points and seven steals followed by Lakeysha Chadwell- English with 5 points and 5 rebounds. Annabel Shelhorse 4 points & 5 rebounds. Kylie Gecelosky, Marian Sadowski and Rylie Nass each had 2 points.  

V - Mt Airy 61  North Hagerstown 14   Mount Airy’s Julissa Almonte led all scorers with a very efficient 23 points. Other top scorers for Mount Airy were Lily Kaye and Maddie Hawkins who combined for 20 points. Leading scorer for North Hagerstown was Blessing Engemise who scored 5 points. 

JV - Mt Airy 37  North Hagerstown 15   Even with a short bench, Mt Airy was locked in defensively from the jump. Maddy Janyskas 10 first half points helped the Bulldogs jump out to a commanding 22-0 halftime lead. The Queens came out hot in the 3rd quarter behind Blessing Engemise 6 points but the lead was too much to overcome. Abella Murphy was a beast on the boards and had 13 points for the Bulldogs in addition to Janyskas 14 points. For the Queens, Engemise had six points and Skye White scored 4 points.  

V - Oakdale 41  FSK 22     The Lady Bears and Lady Eagles appeared to take a page from their Littles’ playbook, as both teams opened the game with tough defense. Each side was held to single-digit scoring through the first quarter, with Oakdale holding a slim 9–5 advantage at the end of the first.   Oakdale continued to apply defensive pressure in the second quarter, while Prisca Apenou and Desiray Djoko were perfect from the floor. Apenou knocked down all four (nine points) of her attempts, while Djoko converted all three (six points), helping the Lady Bears build a commanding lead heading into halftime, 28–9.  Apenou kept her momentum rolling in the third quarter, scoring another eight of her game-high 22 points. She also added four rebounds and four steals to round out her stat line. Djoko anchored the paint for Oakdale, leading the team with nine rebounds and three steals, while Paige VanLeeuwen pulled down seven rebounds and dished out two assists. Additional contributions came from Gabby Gonzales with nine points, five steals, three rebounds, and one assist, and Tallulah Hammel with four points, four steals, four rebounds, and three assists. FSK contributors included Ava Senseny with seven points, Lilyana Potts with six points, Reese Smith with five points, Allison Hagan with two points, and Reagan Dietz and Ella Wolfenden each adding one point.

JV - Oakdale 36  FSK 9     Oakdale welcomed FSK into the Den on a cold, pre-storm afternoon, and both teams opened the game with tough, physical defense. Neither side found the scoreboard during the first three minutes of play as possessions were traded back and forth. The Lady Bears eventually found the rim, settling in to take a 9–5 lead over the Lady Eagles by the end of the first quarter.  The Lady Bears continued to play aggressively on both ends of the floor, finishing with 20 steals and 35 rebounds while outscoring the Lady Eagles 15–0 across the middle quarters. Oakdale took it up their offense a notch in the fourth, knocking down three of their four shots from beyond the arc and limiting FSK to just four points to close out the game.  Leading contributors for Oakdale included Olivia Davis, who posted seven points, six rebounds, five steals, and two assists, and Rishikka Nelluri with six points, eight rebounds, one steal, and one assist. Additional contributions came from Rina Tazisong with seven points, three rebounds, and three steals, and Raelyn Scritchfield with three points, five rebounds, four steals, and two assists. Nora Nolke and Anna Mills rounded out the Oakdale stat sheet with four points, four rebounds, two assists and two points, three rebounds, three steals, and one assist, respectively. For FSK, Aubrey Russ led the scoring with four points, followed by Ryleigh Fogle with three points and Evelyn Harley with two points.

V - Catoctin 39 Poolesville 30     A heated rematch between The Lady Cougars and Poolesville Timberwolves this afternoon. Both teams came out slow in the first quarter of the game turning the game into a defensive contest. Catoctin pulled away in the second quarter creating a 11-point game difference. Alice Watson dropped 2 3-point shots to change the game direction. Lily Weyrauch went on a small, lobbed run to try and recover the quarter with putting up 4 points before going into the half. Catoctin went into the 3rd quarter in foul trouble giving Jayda Stanton the run with her picking up 6 points in that quarter. Nola Schildt shut down the game with her great defense and good ball reading skills with 9 steals. Abby Morlan and Austin Droneburg’s rebounding skills help keep Catoctin in the game. Poolesville fought back with aggressive defense and countless attempts to drive the ball into the paint but couldn’t recover with big points coming from most of the Catoctin players on the floor in the 4th quarter.  Shooters for Poolesville: Jayda Stanton (14), Lily Weyrauch (4) and Margo Slonski (4)Shooters for Catoctin: Alice Watson (17), Abby Morlan (9), and Austin Droneburg(7)

JV – Poolesville 39   Catoctin 6     Poolesville JV came out strong defensively on Saturday limiting the Catoctin offense all game. The Cougars played strong defense in the first half holding Poolesville to 9 points but after the half Poolesville upped their defense and created chaos for the Cougars offensively. Poolesville was led in scoring by Mia Stewart with 9, Bella Armenia-8, and Isa Devriendt with 6. Catoctin was led by Addison Kreitz with 5. The final score was 39-6

V – West Frederick 47  Clear Spring 14   Lady Cadets Varsity defeat Clear Spring, 47-14. Leading 8-1, Lady Cadets went on a 10-point run to pull further away. Lady Cadets had a strong first half, leading 23-6 at halftime and never looked back, securing the victory. Clear Spring and the Lady Cadets both played stifling defense however the Cadets controlled the paint, grabbing 49 rebounds. Skyla Ambush knocked down two shots from beyond the arc for Lady Cadets. Lady Cadets passed the ball well with 10 assists on 19 made baskets. Top Scorer leading all scorers was the Cadets Nuria Timm with 10 points. Also contributing for Lady Cadets were Reagan Henderson and Kadence Seales both with 8 points, as well as Shaniah Swanson and Skylah Ambush both with 6 points. Clear Spring was led by Piper Reed with 5 points and Chariƛ Britton with 4 points. 47-14 Cadets

JV – West Frederick 39  Clear Spring 10    The JV West Frederick Cadets put on a defensive clinic at home, overwhelming the JV Clear Spring Blazers in a commanding 39–10 victory that showcased intensity, depth, and discipline from tip-off to the final buzzer.  West Frederick wasted no time setting the tone. Relentless defensive pressure disrupted Clear Spring’s rhythm early, forcing turnovers and controlling the tempo of the game. By halftime, the Cadets had built a commanding 29–4 lead, fueled by quick ball movement, aggressive rebounding, and suffocating on-ball defense.  Offensively, the Cadets spread the wealth. Grace Spurger led all scorers with 13 points, consistently attacking gaps and finishing strong  Sariya Brandon and Khalasia Taylor each added 8 points, providing steady scoring and energy on both ends of the floor.  Harper Chapman chipped in 7 points, making her presence felt with timely baskets and smart play.    Clear Spring showed resilience despite the uphill battle. Elizabeth Rhodrick led the Blazers with 4 points, while Lexie Fugate added 3, continuing to compete against constant pressure. Even as the score widened, the Blazers refused to back down, fighting until the final horn.  In the end, it was West Frederick’s defense that told the story; controlling pace, closing passing lanes, and turning effort into opportunity. A statement win at home, the Cadets proved that defense truly sets the tone.

V - Linganore 39 Monocacy 27    Strong rebounding and aggresive defense led Linganore to a 39-27 win over Monocacy.The winners out rebounded Monocacy 36-15,took 22 foul shots,and had scoring runs of 14-2 and 11-0 to grab a big lead.Monocacy played hard to the end out scoring Linganore 11-2 in the fourth quarter.Leading scorers for Linganore was Tori Capone with 13 points and Kennedy Poffenbarger with 12 points,including 3 three-popinters in the first half. Monocacy was led by Jaclyn Albaugh with 9 points,with 2 three-pointers and Abigail Tootill adding 5 points.

JV - Monocacy 42 Linganore 37 (Overtime)    Monocacy and Linganore JV teams met at Thomas Johnson High School on Saturday evening in a match-up of Chesapeake division competitors.  The first quarter was a defensive battle and tightly contested that ended with Linganore leading 4-3.  Both teams found offense in the second quarter.  Linganore got field goals from five different players while Monocacy converted on eight free throws and got a 3-pointer from Princess Tanchik-Solovey.  Linganore led 18-17 at the half.  The defenses tightened up in the third quarter and both teams scored six points each.  Linganore led 24-23 at the end of the third quarter.  The fourth quarter was an exciting back and forth finish as Monocacy's Princess Tanchik-Solovery got the hot hand and scored 9 points including a 3-pointer.  Linganore held a 35-34 lead late in the fourth quarter when Monocacy's Catherine Manyacka converted a game-tying free throw.  The game was tied 35-35 at the end of regulation.  In the Overtime period, Monocacy's Manyacka converted another three free throws and Tanchik-Solovey converted a 3-point play as Monocacy finished with a 42-37 win.  Monocacy's Princess Tanchik-Solovey led all scorers with 21 points (two 3-pointers) followed by London Martin with 9, Catherine Manyacka with 6, McKayla Boateng with 5, and Cali Jackson with 1 point.  Sawyer Jones and Kaiya Gallick each scored 9 points to lead Linganore, followed by Quinn Chandler with 7, Gabrielle Day and Harper Poehlman with 4 points each, and Brooklyn Keller and Amy Harris with 2 points each.

V - Urbana 53 Smithsburg 37   Urbana was led by Dakota Washington with 30 points. Bella Muniz and Brooklyn Walker added 8 and 7 points for Urbana.  Smithsburg was led Jazmine Tyler with 13 points. Cam Gouff and Viv Malott added 12 and 8 points for Smithsburg.

JV - Urbana 37 Smithsburg 17 Urbana was led by Dru Joseph with 12 points, and Caroline Suarez Added 8 points

 

 

Game Summaries for 01/19/26

 

V - Smithsburg 42 Windsor Knoll 27   Smithsburg was led by Cam Gouff with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Viv Malott had 16 points with 5 assists, Windsor Knolls was led by Kayleigh Golden with 12 points and  Grace Rahmati with 10 points.

JV - Windsor Knolls 43 Smithsburg 15   Shelhorse led Windsor Knolls with 15 points.  Quinn Cline led Smithsburg with 11 points

V - Linganore 44 Middletown 36    The Lancers defeated the Knights Monday night 44-36. In the second quarter the Lancers grew their lead to double digits only to see the Knights rally late in the half and cut the deficit to 2(20-18). The third quarter made the difference as the Lancers outscored the Knights 15-9. The Lancers were able to protect their lead throughout the 4th quarter and brought home a victory for the home crowd on MLK day. The Knights were led in scoring by Hockman(10), Benler(8), and Murphy(7). For the Lancers McKinley Hinkle led the way with 11 points, Kennedy Poffenbarger scored 9 of her 10 points in the 2nd half, and Tori Capone with 9 points.

JV Linganore 46 Middletown 18    Linganore, playing at home, pulled away in the second half to earn a 46–18 victory over Middletown. The Lancers set the tone early, leading 11 - 7 after the first quarter, and steadily extended the advantage to 20–10 at halftime. Linganore continued to build momentum after the break, controlling the floor and outscoring Middletown in both the third and fourth quarters to seal the win. Linganore was led offensively by Amy Harris, who poured in a game-high 11 points. Followed by Quinn Chandler and Harper Poehlman both scoring 9 points each. Middletown was led by Caroline Sounder, who finished with 6 points, followed by Brylee Cameron with 5 points, and Allyson Clabaugh with 4 points.

V - Urbana 46 Brunswick 18    The Railroaders visited the Hawks on a Monday evening. The Hawks came out fast with a stingy defense leading to a 13-2 lead at the end of the 1st quarter. In the 2nd quarter the defense tightened up for both teams and points were hard to come by for both teams, the Hawks held a 21-7 lead at the half. In the 3rd quarter both teams found their offensive rhythm and traded baskets back and forth, with the 3rd ending with a 36-17 lead for the Hawks.  The 4th quarter the Hawks came out with a suffocating defensive effort to close out the game with the win. The Railroaders were led in scoring by Makayla Coccarelli with 6 points, followed by Galiee Shullenbarger and Josie Spevak with 4 points each. The Hawks were led in scoring by Dakota Washington with 28 points, followed by Brookyln Walder and Eva Zeng with 5 points each and Brooklyn Weidling with 4 points. The leading rebounders for the Hawks were Washington with 9, Zeng and Weidling with 6 and Julia Menjivar and Bella Muniz with 4 each. 

JV - Urbana 29 Brunswick 11   In an out of conference game on MLK Day, Urbana came out on top of Brunswick, 29 - 11.  The first half was a low-scoring affair, with Urbana leading 9 - 2.  In the second half, both teams found more offense, with the Hawks spreading the ball around with 6 different players chipping in on the scoreboard, while Brunswick relied on Jubille Shullenbarger and Sydney Badstibner for scoring in the last 14 minutes.  In the end, it was a scrappy 28 minutes for both teams, with the Hawks able to pull out the victory.  Brunswick's leading scorers were Badstibner (four points) and Shullenbarger (three).  The leading scorers for Urbana were Caroline Suarez (13 points), Laila Witherspoon (4) and Sloka Vooturi (4).  The Hawks leading rebounders were Suarez (14 boards), Leni Tsurapas (six), Vooturi (five), Jenna Jeffries (three) and Julia Ackley (three).  In the steals column, Urbana was lead by Dru Joseph (seven), Annie Boyer (six), Suarez (six) and with three steals each were Witherspoon, Naomi Shorts and Ackley.

 

 

Game Summaries for 01/18/26

 

V -  North Hagerstown 33 Clear Spring 28     Clearspring visited North Hagerstown on Sunday and after a hard fought battle, North Hagerstown came away with the win 33-28. Clearspring started strong and led by 3 at the end of the 1st quarter. By the half only 1 point separated the two teams. During the 4th quarter, North Hagerstown pulled ahead for the win.  North Hagerstown’s Emma Morris led all scorers with 12 points. Skye White added 8 points, Annabel Fulghum-Roles contributed 6 points, Sophia Wilson scored 5 points, and Bilghie Normil added 2 points.  Clearspring was led by Alyssa Stewart with 7 points and Amanda Robinson with 6 points. Violet Osborne and Lauralyn Blair each added 4 points.

JV – Clear Spring 39 North Hagerstown 29      North Hagerstown JV hosted Clearspring JV in a hard fought matchup. By the end of the 1st quarter, only 1 point separated the two teams, but in the end Clearspring pulled ahead for the win 39-29.  North Hagerstown’s Skye White led all scorers with 12 points. Annabel Fulghum-Roles contributed 9 points. Other scorers included Naimeh Jalloh with 5 points, Dy’mera White with 2 points, and Alexina Twum-Barimah with 1 point.  Clearspring was led by Lauralyn Blair with 11 points. Elizabeth Rhodrick and Amanda Robinson each added 10 points and Isabella Greene contributed 8 points.

V - Linganore 58  Poolesville 27   The nightcap in Poolesville wasn't as close as Linganore's Varsity Girls scored early and often in their 58-27 win over the Falcons. Linganore put seven players in the scorebook, led by Kennedy Poffenbarger with 14 points (including four three-pointers), Mckinley Hinkle (12 points), and 10 points from Tori Capone. Natalie Corrigan finished with seven points in the win. Poolesville's Sofia Waldman led the way for the Falcons with seven points. Addy White was right behind her with six points, Jayda Stanton finished with five, Charlotte Afshar pitched in four points, Margo Slonski and Brea Hebron finished with four points each, and Lily Weyrauch also scored in the loss. 

JV - Linganore 33 Poolesville 30    In a heartbreaker, Linganore's JV Girls held off a late Poolesville surge to beat the Falcons by a final score of 33-30. Poolesville trailed 28-16 entering the final period but the Lancer's Sawyer Jones (12 points), Kaiya Gollick (six points), and 5th graders Harper Poehlman and Quinn Chandler (four points each) did just enough to pull out the win for the visitors. Poolesville's Mia Stewart (team-high 14 points, including 11 in the second half) and Eva Devine (eight points total, with five coming in the 4th quarter comeback) did all they could to bring Poolesville back. Bella Armenta hit for all three of her points on critical free throws in the final period. Grace Mays hit two big free throws late to keep things close. Lilly Schmidt had a bucket early for the Falcons and Cameron Oristian also scored in the loss.

V – Walkersville 23 Crestwood 14 Walkersville varsity Lady Lions hosted Crestwood Sunday afternoon. Both teams fought to the end, it was the battle of the defenses. Walkersville was led by Payton Zile with 8 points and Brynn Ambush and Harper McLellan with 6 points. Crestwood was led by Heaven Burris with 10 points and Addy Murray with 3 points.

JV - Walkersville 43 Crestwood 15   The Walkersville Lady Lions hosted Crestwood on Sunday afternoon and delivered a strong all-around performance, earning a 43–15 victory. Walkersville set the tone early with aggressive defense and balanced scoring throughout the game. The Lady Lions’ defense limited scoring opportunities and controlled the pace of the game from start to finish. Jasmine Hinton led the Lady Lions with 15 points, followed  closely by Jayla Smith with 12 points. Jay’Lynn Adams contributed 5 points, while Arielle Brown and Adelyn Martin each added 4 points. Crestwood was led offensively by Addie Murray with 8 points and Brooklyn Williams with 5 points.

V - Middletown 33  Monocacy 20   Middletown scored the first 16 points of the game and went on to defeat Monocacy 33-20.Strong half court defense by Middletown gave them a 18-5 half court lead.Monocacy picked up the pace in the second half and cut the lead to 9 but Middletown held them off at the end.Leading scorers for the winners were Reagan Murphy with 15 points with Addison Benler scoring 14 points.For Monocacy Hazel Gomez and Charlotte Moxley each scored 5 points.

JV - Monocacy 37 Middletown 18    Monocacy and Middletown JV teams met at Thomas Johnson High School on Sunday.  The first quarter was tightly contested and ended in a 7-7 tie.  Monocacy found a groove in the second quarter behind Amaya Lee and McKayla Boateng and held a 19-11 lead at the half.  Monocacy continued its momentum in the third quarter highlighted by a 3-pointer from London Martin and multiple conversions at the free throw line.  Monocacy led 27-14 at the end of the third quarter.  Monocacy added another 10 points in the fourth quarter including a 3-pointer from Arianne "Tootie" Ayeboua and cruised to a 37-18 win.  Monocacy's London Martin led all scorers with 9 points (one 3-pointer) followed by Princess Tanchik-Solovey with 6, McKayla Boateng with 6, Amaya Lee with 4, Jocelyn Neely with 3, Tootie Ayeboua with 3 (one 3-pointer), and Chandler Serio, Brookly Albaugh and Catherine Manyacka with 2 points each.  Caroline Souder led Middletown with 5 points, followed by Samantha Morders with 4, Brylee Cameron with 3, Allyson Clabaugh with 3, Hannah Coon with 2 and Evangeline Wilson with 1 point.

V - Oakdale 45 Ballenger Creek 27    Oakdale’s Prisca Apenou came out hot, scoring 68% of her points in the first half with 15 of her 22 points. Apenou was a perfect 4-for-4 from the three-point range, helping the Lady Bears outscore the Lady Bulldogs 21–8 in the first half. Gabby Gonzales and Tallulah Hammel led Oakdale’s scoring in the third quarter, with Gonzales contributing nine of her 13 points and Hammel adding four. Their efforts helped keep Ballenger Creek at bay, as Oakdale extended its lead to 36–17 by the end of the third quarter. Gonzales and Hammel also led the Lady Bears in assists, recording four and three, respectively. Ballenger Creek posted its first double-digit scoring quarter in the fourth with 10 points, but Oakdale continued to score as well, and the late surge was not enough for the Lady Bulldogs. The Lady Bears had several contributors throughout the game. They pulled down 35 rebounds, led by Desiray Djoko with 12, followed by Apenou with six, and Briley Schreiber and Faith Bigham with four each. Defensively, Oakdale was aggressive, recording 24 steals—eight by Apenou, five by Gonzales, and three by Djoko. Other scorers for Oakdale included Djoko, Paige VanLeeuwen, and Grace Zoberbier, who each finished with two points. Ballenger Creek was led in scoring by Jada Dawson with 10 points and Clara Main with nine.

JV - Oakdale 27  Ballenger Creek 26     The Lady Bulldogs came ready to play, having control of the ball for the first several minutes of the opening quarter and jumping out to an early lead. By the end of the first quarter, Ballenger Creek led Oakdale, 6-2.  Oakdale settled in during the second quarter, but Ballenger Creek continued to apply pressure. Each team knocked down 11, with Reagan McElwee sinking a much-needed three-pointer for the Lady Bears late in the half. Despite that, the Lady Bulldogs maintained a slim lead going into halftime, 17–13. Defense dominated the second half, as each team allowed only six points in the third quarter. Oakdale continued to battle but could not quite take the lead, and the Lady Bulldogs held a 23–19 edge at the end of the third. In the fourth quarter, Oakdale finally found the rim more consistently while Ballenger Creek ran into foul trouble. The Lady Bears outscored the Lady Bulldogs 8–3 in the final period to pull ahead. It was a tight game until the closing minutes, but Oakdale showed patience and pulled out the win.  Oakdale had several contributors across the stat sheet. The Lady Bears recorded eight steals: Lead by Rina Tazisong (three) and Anna Mills (two). Oakdale also grabbed 16 rebounds, led by Mills and Nora Nolke with four each, followed by McElwee and Tazisong with three each. McElwee led Oakdale in scoring with 10 points, followed by Tazisong with eight. Kaitlyn Angelberger added three points. Ballenger Creek scoring was led by Emily Le with six points. Jada Dawson and Logan Achten each added five, Clara Main scored four, and Peyton Blanc and Lucy Wiese chipped in three each.

V - Mt Airy 30 Williamsport 26    Mount Airy beats Williamsport 30-26 in a 4th quarter thriller. Lily Grubic was the top performer for Mount Airy with 13 points. Mount Airy’s Ashlynn Harrison had 2 clutch baskets in the last 2 minutes of the game to seal the win. Williamsport’s leading scorer was Addy Butts who scored 12 points and was a 3-level scoring threat. 

JV - Mt Airy 39 Williamsport 4     Mt Airy hosted Williamsport for a Sunday afternoon matchup. The Bulldogs defense created a number of scoring opportunities as they jumped out to a 15-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. Avery Corcoran scored all 10 of her points in the first half helping Mt Airy extend the lead to 21-1 at halftime. More defensive pressure in the second half. Kendall Cohen scored six of her game high 11 points in the fourth quarter as Mt Airy sealed the win. Leading scorers for Williamsport were Addy Rhea with 2 points and Hayden Wetty and Findley Chambers each scored 1. Leading the Bulldogs were Cohen with 11, Corcoran with 10 and Micaela Uzzo with 8.

V - Brunswick 47  South Hagerstown 43     The home Brunswick Railroaders rallied from a 5-point halftime deficit to defeat visiting South Hagerstown, 47-43, in a highly competitive matchup from start to finish.  Galilee Shullenbarger was the leading force behind the comeback for Brunswick, scoring 19 points and grabbing 16 rebounds in the win.  15 of Shullenbarger's 19 points came in the decisive 2nd half.  Kayla Ciccarelli and Katie Paschalides each scored 7 points for Brunswick, while Josie Spevak and Jollene Droneburg contributed 6 and 4, respectively.  Maggie Kay and Ruby each scored 2 for the Railroaders.  For South Hagerstown, Malaya Moore led the way with a game-high 22 points, followed closely by Bella Ray, who added 17 points.  Chelsea Paniagua and Leilani Semeatu each scored 2 for South.  

JV - South Hagerstown 33  Brunswick 22     South Hagerstown came to Brunswick ready to play as they defeated the Lady Railroaders 33-22.  South was led in scoring by the talented Harmony Washington's 18 points followed by Ra'dae Ray's 10.  Brunswick had nine different players score, but just wasn't enough to overcome the deficit.  Nora Tritch led Brunswick with 5, while McKenna Riley, Emma Higgins, and Jubilee Shullenbarger each added 3 points.  

V - West Frederick 59  FSK 19   The home team Eagles, struggled to get off the ground against the stifling press and defense applied by visiting West Frederick from the opening tipoff. West Frederick took a commanding 19-point lead after the first quarter and never looked back.  West Fredericks Swanson 11, poured it in beyond that arc, totaling 15 points. Game high scorer Timm 2, added an impressive 16 points of her own. West Frederick used a balanced scoring attack, having 8 girls make the stat sheet with points of their own. FSK was led in scoring by Smith 22, with 10 points. Lil Honeycutt added 5 points of her own.

JV - West Frederick 53   FSK 16  FSK hosted West Frederick on a snowy Sunday in Union Bridge.  West Frederick dominated on defense and on the scoreboard with a 53-16 win. West Frederick was led by Brandon with 16 pts, Taylor with 13, and Chapman with 12. FSK scorers were Fogle and Grant with 4 points each

 

 

Game Summaries for 01/17/26

V - Boonsboro 40  North Hagerstown 15   Boonsboro controlled the tempo from start to finish on its home floor, rolling past North Hagerstown for a 40–15 victory. The Warriors set the tone early with strong defense and steady offensive execution, building a comfortable lead that continued to grow as the game went on. Grace Smith led Boonsboro’s scoring attack with nine points, knocking down three three-pointers to spark the offense. Caroline Plumadore made her presence felt on both ends of the court, finishing with six points while pulling down nine rebounds. Harper Mullendore also added six points to help round out Boonsboro’s balanced scoring effort. North Hagerstown found scoring opportunities hard to come by against Boonsboro’s defense. Ryleigh Wilson led the Hubs with six points, but the visitors struggled to generate consistent offense throughout the game

JV - Boonsboro 25 North Hagerstown 17   Boonsboro used a strong second half to pull away from North Hagerstown and secure a home victory, leaning on balanced scoring and timely shooting. After a closely contested first half, Boonsboro found its rhythm after the break. Delaney Slough led the charge in the second half, scoring nine of her points as the Warriors created separation and took control of the game. Bella Gordon finished as Boonsboro’s leading scorer with 10 points, providing steady offense throughout the contest. Ellie Wiegand added six points, knocking down two three-pointers that helped fuel the second-half surge. North Hagerstown worked to keep pace early but struggled to match Boonsboro’s momentum down the stretch. Dy’mera White led the Hubs with six points, while Blessing Engemise contributed five points in the effort.

V - Mt. Airy 39  Crestwood 18    Mt. Airy earned a decisive 39–18 victory over Crestwood with a strong all-around performance. Mt. Airy controlled the game from start to finish, consistently outscoring Crestwood . Despite the loss, Crestwood got an outstanding effort from Heaven Burriss, who led all scorers with 17 points & many steals. Mt. Airy was paced offensively by Lily Grublc, who led her team in scoring 12 following with 10 from Lily Kaye.

JV - Mt. Airy 25  Crestwood 8    Mt. Airy earned a convincing 25–8 victory over Crestwood, jumping out to a fast start and never looking back. Mt. Airy opened the game with a strong 7–0 run and controlled the pace throughout. Crestwood battled hard and made a push in the fourth quarter, but it wasn’t enough as Mt. Airy continued to extend its lead. Mt. Airy was led by Maddy Janyska with seven points and Kendall Cohen with five. Crestwood was paced by Addie Murray with four points, while Sienna Sampson and Zia Roy each added two.

V - Middletown 48 Smithsburg 37   Middletown hosted Smithsburg on Saturday night and the home team pulled out a 48-37 victory. The game had various runs as both teams traded baskets throughout the game that had multiple lead changes. Middletown went on the first run and finished the first quarter up 9-6. Smithsburg answered every Middletown basket and at the half, Middletown led 18-13. The third quarter belonged to Smithsburg and Viv Mallot as the visitors put up 17 in the quarter (11 by Mallot) and took a 30-28 lead into the fourth quarter. Middletown and Addi Benler answered that run with a run of its own in the fourth, putting up 20 points in the quarter (13 by Benler) and securing an 11 point victory. Middletown was led in scoring by Addi Benler with 17 points, followed by Reagan Murphy (16 points), Stella Fogle (9 points), and Lily Hockman (6 points). Smithsburg was led in scoring by Viv Mallot with 17 points, followed by Cam Gouff (8 points), Elyse Anderson (7 points), and Jazmine Tyler (5 points). 

JV - Middletown 33  Smithsburg 11    The Middletown Knights defended their home court Saturday afternoon, setting the tone early against the Smithsburg Leopards with a commanding 9–0 lead to end the first quarter. From there, Middletown controlled the pace on both ends of the floor, never allowing Smithsburg to find rhythm, and cruised to a decisive 33–11 victory.  Hannah Coon powered the Knights’ offense, leading all scorers with 8 points. Caroline Souder followed closely with 7, while Sam Morders and Isabelle Hannon each added 6 to round out a balanced scoring effort.  Smithsburg was led by Taylor Clark and Quinn Cline with 5 points and 4 points, respectively.

V - Poolesville 34  Urbana 29 In a late night battle of two evenly matched teams, the first quarter was a tightly defensive quarter with the Hawks coming out ahead 8-5 at the end of the quarter. The 2nd quarter was another defensive battle with the Hawks holding a 14-13 halftime lead. The 3rd quarter was a mirror image of the 1st half a tough back and forth defensive battle with the Falcons holding a 21-19 lead at the end of the quarter. The Falcons came out hot in the 4th quarter with a 5-0 run to push their lead to 26-19, after a timeout from Urbana, The Hawks responded with a quick 7-0 run to tie the game at 26-26 with 3 mins left in the game and a big 3 pointer from Addy White pushed their lead falcons up 29-26 and then the hawks responded with a big 3 from Sophia Villegas to tie the game back up 29-29. In the final minutes the Falcons proved to be to much for the Hawks and pulled out a 34-29 win. Leading scorers for the Falcons were Sofia Waldman with 10 points, Addy White with 7 points and Jayda Stanton with 6 points. The Hawks were lead in scoring from Sophia Villegas with 9 points, Bella Muniz with 7 points, Brooklyn Walder & Anabel Murphy with 5 points and Makayla Randolph with 3 points. 

JV - Urbana 26 Poolesville 18      In the first meeting of the year between the two teams, Urbana came out on top, 26 - 18.  In the first quarter, Poolesville took a 6 - 5 lead thanks to Mia Stewart scoring all six points for Poolesville.  In the second, the Hawks turned the tables on Poolesville, as Dru Joseph scored all nine of the Hawks' points helping Urbana to a 14 - 8 halftime lead.  The next two quarters were played pretty tightly between the two teams, with Urbana pulling out the win, 26 - 18.  Poolesville was lead in scoring by Stewart, who finished with 13; Bella Armenta chipped in three points and Lilly Schmidt had two.  The Hawks were lead in scoring by Joseph with 16.  Naomi shorts added 6 points of her own and Annie Boyer and Sloka Vooturi added two points each.  Urbana's top rebounders were Joseph with six, Caroline Suarez with five and adding four boards each were Shorts, Boyer and Leni Tsurapas.  Joseph also had 8 steals and Shorts had 4.

V – Walkersville 49  Ballenger Creek 43  The Varsity Lady Bulldogs hosted the Lady Lions on a cold Saturday morning. The Lady Lions came up on top against the Lady Bulldogs 49-43. The Lady Bulldogs started off hot going on a quick 8-0 run led by guard Olivia Meyers scoring 8 quick points  to the start the game. The Lady Lions answered back with a 7-0 run. The Lady Lions took the lead at the end of the first quarter 19-17. Second quarter both teams struggled to get an offense going and the Lady Bulldogs would regain their lead 24-23. Second half Lady Lions came out strong going on a  7-0 run led by guard Payton Frank. Lady Lions took the lead to the end the third quarter 36-33. Fourth quarter Lady Bulldogs attempted to make a comeback with a nice shooting performance by guard Olivia Meyers.  With clutch free throws and rebounding the Lady Lions would prevail to victory. The Lady Bulldogs was led by  sharp shooter Olivia Meyers with 30 points. Hitting 4 3's, and 15 points in each half. Forward Arianna Tineo chipped in 4 points. The Lady Lions was led by Payton Zile with 17 points. Payton Frank with 15 points. Brynn Ambush with 6 points. Gina Duds with 5 points.

JV – Ballenger Creek 30  Walkersville 27   The Jv lady Bulldogs hosted the Lady Lions on a snowy Saturday morning. In a nail biter the Lady Bulldogs  would seal the victory 30-27. First quarter both teams came out playing a tight defensive game and the Lady Bulldogs held onto a tight lead at the end of the first quarter 8-5. Second quarter Lady Bulldogs came out hot going on a 11-0 run taking the lead at the end of the half 19-5. Second half the Lady Lions came out and ready to battle. Lady Lions went on an amazing 14-4 run in the third quarter cutting the Lady Bulldogs lead 23-19. Fourth quarter Lady Lions continue to shine tying the game 23-23. With clutch free throws by Lady Bulldogs Logan  Achten and Lucy Wiese the Lady Bulldogs would seal the nail biting victory. The Lady Lions  was led by Jaylynn Adams  with 8 points. Jayla Smith with 7 points. Jasmine Hinton with 6 points. Adelyn Martin with 4 points. The Lady Bulldogs was led by Clara Main with 10 points. Emily Le with 6 points. Jada Dawson with 4 points.

V – Catoctin 52  FSK 25    Lady Cougars hosted FSK for a solid defensive game.  Lady Cougars started slow offensively in the first quarter but turned up the heat with putting up 17 points to pull away with the lead. FSK attempted to rally with dumping 8 points in the basket. Catoctin’s defense came alive in the 3rd quarter, keeping FSK to just 1 point. Catoctin continued to shoot the ball with putting up 19 points. FSK rallied back in the last quarter with solid defense and started hitting their shots but fell short.  Leading Scorers for Catoctin: Morlan (20), Watson (18), Droneburg (7). FSK: Dietz (9), Senseny (5), Smith (5) and Honeycutt (4)

JV - FSK 30 Catoctin 23     FSK showed up to play basketball but was struggling with only 6 players. They fought through the challenge and showed up to play.  Solid defense and smart basketball pushed them to the win. Catoctin fought back but struggled to keep the ball. Top scorers for Catoctin: Tsikerdanos (8), Wills (7), and Cantrell (4) FSK: Grant (8), Laney (8), Scholl (6) and Fogle (6)

V - Clear Spring 45  South Hagerstown 34    Varsity South Hagerstown Lady Huskies lost to Clear Spring Blazers MIddle School Varsity, 45-34, on Saturday at E Russell Hicks Middle School. The Lady Huskies had a strong start to the game, playing particularly well in the first quarter, outscoring Clear Spring Blazers MIddle School Varsity 14-4. The Lady Huskies leading 20-17 at halftime, but couldn't keep up the momentum and ultimately fell short to a strong second half by the Blazers.  Malaya Moore led the Lady Huskies with a big 20 point game with. Also contributing for Varsity South Hagerstown Lady Huskies were Amaya Jones (12 points) and Jordyn Turner (2 points).  Khloe Hensley scored 10 points to lead Clear Spring Blazers Middle School Varsity. Alyssa Stewart (8 points), Lauralyn Blair (8 points), Violet Osborne (5 points), Piper Reed (5 points), Julia Brown (4p oints), Layla Barr (3 points), and Bella Greene (2 points) helped out Clear Spring Blazers MIddle School Varsity as well.

JV - Clear Spring 29 South Hagerstown 26     JV South Hagerstown Lady Huskies lost a close game to Clear Spring Blazers Middle School JV, 29-26, on Saturday at E Russell Hicks Middle School. Harmony Washington was the leading scorer for JV South Hagerstown Lady Huskies with 17 points, including knocking down two shots from beyond the arc for JV South Hagerstown Lady Huskies. Avalon Macena also contributed for the Lady Huskies scoring 9 points. Isabella Greene led Clear Spring Blazers Middle School JV in scoring with 14 points. Ella Miller (6 points), Lizzy Rhodrick (5 points), Amanda Robinson and Lauralyn Blair (2 points) helped out Clear Spring Blazers Middle School JV as well.

V - Brunswick 42  Williamsport 26    Williamsport hosted Brunswick in the varsity middle school game at Williamsport High School. Brunswick came out strong on offense, hitting multiple three-point shots giving them a 26-8 at halftime. The Wildcats battled back in the second half but Brunswick was too strong offensively, leading to their 42-26 victory. Brunswick's top scorers were Makayla Ciccarelli with 18 points and Gallee Shullenbarger with 11 points. Wildcats scorers were led by Trinity Brown with 11 and Addy Butts with 7 points.

JV - Brunswick 14  Williamsport 9   Brunswick visited Williamsport Saturday night and left victorious by a score of 14-9. It was a defensively battle from the start with Williamsport holding a 6-5 lead at the half. Brunswick was able to finally create a little separation on the scoreboard in the 4th quarter and hold on for a hard fought win. Emma Higgins led the way for Brunswick scoring five points while Addy Rhea led Williamsport with five points.

V - Monocacy 48  Boonsboro 17   Monocacy controlled the pace of the game from tip off, starting in a stifling press. Their penetration and ability to finish at the basket was electric. Boonsboro was able to break the press, but unable to capitalize on the half court transition. Monocacy was led by Hazel Gomez’s with 14 points, followed by Alora Turner with 8. Boonsboro was led by Caroline Plumadore with 5 and Jordyn Dembo with 4.

JV Monocacy 42  Boonsboro 7   Monocacy dominated the game by pairing a suffocating defense with a relentless transition game, consistently turning Boonsboro’s missed opportunities into a highlight reel of fast-break layups. While Boonsboro showed discipline by working the ball patiently around the perimeter, they were unable to penetrate Monocacy’s pressure, resulting in a lack of shot attempts that stalled their offense. The scoring effort was ignited by a standout performance from Princess Tanchik-Solovey, who racked up the game-high 19 points fueled by three clinical shots from beyond the arc, while London Martin provided a steady offensive spark with 8 points to help seal the commanding victory. Boonsboro was led by Bella Gordon with 3 points. 

V - Mt Airy 45  Oakdale 27: Julissa Almonte lead the offensive charge for Mount Airy with 18 points. Other key contributors for Mount Airy were Lily Kaye with 12 points and Maddie Hawkins who had an incredible rebounding and defensive performance. Leading scorers for Oakdale were Gabby Gonzales and Talluah Hammel who combined for 17 points. 

V - Mt Airy 26  Oakdale 23: The Bulldogs hosted the Lions in a rematch from last month. The game was close throughout. Mt Airy jumped out to a 5-4 lead at the end of the first quarter. The offense picked up a bit in the second with Mt Airy extending its lead slightly to 14-12 at halftime. The second half would be more of the same. Avery Corcoran scored all five of Mt Airys points in the fourth quarter to help seal the win. Leading scorers for Mt Airy were Corcoran with 9 and Micaela Uzzo with 6 points. Oakdale spread out the scoring with Rina Tazisong contributing 5 points and Adriana Allewein, Reagan McElwee and Olivia Davis each scoring 4 points.

V – Catoctin 34  Windsor Knolls 10    The contest opened as a true defensive struggle as Catoctin held Windsor Knolls to a scoreless first quarter and entered the second quarter with a 7-0 lead.  Catoctin built on this defensive performance by outscoring six to two in the second quarter to enter halftime with a 13-2 lead. Catoctin continued to build momentum in the second half. They added eight points in the third quarter while holding Windsor Knolls to four points. Entering the final period up 21-6, Catoctin added to their lead with a 13 point fourth quarter, finishing the game with a 34-10 win. Key scorers for Catoctin were Alice Watson (#5), who led the game with 14 points, Abby Marlon (#23) with 10 points and  Austin Draenert (#10) with eight points.  Leading scorer for Windsor Knolls was Kayleigh Gordon (#25) with six points.

JV – Windsor Knolls 43  Catoctin 6   Windsor Knolls delivered a complete performance at home, rolling past Catoctin by a decisive 43–6 final. The home team set the tone early, jumping out to a 10–2 lead in the first quarter behind strong defensive pressure and efficient scoring. Windsor Knolls continued to control the game in the second quarter, outscoring Catoctin 12–0 to take a commanding 22–2 advantage into halftime.  Catoctin never quit and kept fighting with smooth passing as they got shots off but just didn't fall.  Windsor Knolls put together its most productive stretch in the third quarter, scoring 14 points while allowing just two. The fourth quarter followed the same script, with Windsor Knolls adding seven more points and holding Catoctin to another pair, sealing it. The Wolverine’s defense was the story of the afternoon, limiting Catoctin to just six total points and forcing tough possessions throughout all four quarters.
Catoctin was led in scoring by Aubrey Pearl with 4 points followed by Addison Kreitz with 2.  The Wolverines had nine players contribute on the scoreboard. Annabel Shelhorse led WK with 12 points followed by Chloe Merriwether 10 points. Megan Crowell and Veda Pydiganta each had 6 points.  Kylie Gecelosky 3 pts, Rylie Motes 2, Taylor Fox 2, Marian Sadowski 2, and Lakeysha Chadwell-English with 1 point. 

JV - Ballenger Creek 36 FSK 24    FSK hosted Ballenger Creek on Sunday for a JV game that would prove to be hard-fought and defensively tough. Ballenger Creek would take a first-half lead and never look back, securing a 39-24 Win. Jada Dawson scored 12 points, and Clara Main scored 8 points for Ballenger Creek. FSK scoring leaders were Ryleigh Fogle with 7 Points and Abigail Scholl with 5 points.

V - Ballenger Creek 42  Eagles 33     It was a dogfight in Taneytown today! The Ballenger Creek Varsity Bulldogs went toe-to-toe with the Eagles from FSK in a contest that stayed electric from the opening tip to the final whistle. Ballanger Creek’s Olivia Myers was unstoppable, dropping a massive 25 points to lead all scorers! Amaya Darrell chipped in 6 crucial points to keep the momentum shifting toward the Dogs. FSK’s Nadalie Rill (20 pts) and Reese Smith (9 pts) sparked a late-game rally that had the fans on their feet, but the Bulldogs’ early lead was too much to overcome. Ballenger Creek leaves windy Taneytown with a gritty “W” in the books.

V – Walkersville 35  Poolesville 29  Walkersville hosted Poolesville on Sunday afternoon. Poolesville took the lead early ending the first quarter 6-12, Poolesville up. But that did not stop Walkersville from fighting back. Walkersville outscored Poolesville in the second half 13-2, taking them into halftime Walkersville ahead 19-14. Walkersville kept the pace and controlled the game, clinching the hard win. Walkersville was led by Payton Zile with 11 points, Brynn Ambush with 9 points, and Harper McLellan with 7 points. Poolesville was led by Jayda Stanton with 7 points and Addy White with 6 points.

JV - Poolesville 31 Walkersville 26  The Lady Lions hosted Poolesville on Sunday afternoon. Leading in points for Walkersville was Jayla Smith with 12 points, Jasmine Hinton with 5 and Gwen Beaver with 4 points. Poolesville was led by Mia Stewart with 9 points, Grace May with 7 points, and Eva Devine & Lilly Schmidt with 4 points each.

V - Urbana 49 Middletown 20      Middletown hosted Urbana Sunday night in what would be a dominant performance by the visiting team, securing a 49-20 victory. Urbana went on a 15-2 run to start the game due to their half court defensive pressure that Middletown struggled to break through. Leading 15-4, Urbana went on a 13-point run to pull further away, leading at the half 28-6. Middletown showed fight in the second half, matching scores with Urbana in the third quarter. Given the turnovers by Middletown and the hot shooting of Urbana, the visiting team easily held onto their lead and closed out the game. Urbana was led in scoring by Dakota Washington with 19 points. Emerson Jarvis (9 points), Brooklyn Walder (7 points), and Bella Muniz (5 points) also contributed. Middletown was led in scoring by Stella Fogle with 7 points. Reagan Murphy collected eight boards to lead Middletown on the glass. McKinna Hidalgo (3 points), Courtney Bidinger (3 points), Lily Hockman (3 points), Charlotte Moore (2 points), Julianna Grady (1 point), and Murphy (1 point) also pitched in for Middletown. 

JV - Urbana 28 Middletown 22    The Middletown Knights hosted the Urbana Hawks in a spirited Sunday afternoon matchup. After a tightly contested opening quarter, Urbana found its rhythm and controlled the tempo, using strong rebounding and second-chance opportunities to pull ahead for a 28–22 victory. Urbana was powered by a standout performance from Caroline Suarez, who led all scorers with 14 points, while Dru Joseph added 5 and Laila Witherspoon chipped in 3.   Middletown showed balanced scoring throughout the game. Brylee Cameron, Hannah Coon, and Isabelle Hannon each contributed 6 points to keep the Knights within striking distance, and Samantha Morders added 3.

V - S. Hagerstown 43  N. Hagerstown 42    Varsity N. Hagerstown Queens faced off against the Varsity S. Hagerstown Huskies for the first meeting of the season. It was a back and forth game the whole way, coming down to the last seconds of the game to decide the winner. In the end, the Lady Huskies pulled out the win 43-42.  Husky Bella Ray led all scorers with 19 points, followed by Malaya Moore with 15 points. North Hagerstown was led by Sophia Wilson and Emma Morris each with 13 points. Bilghie Normil contributed 9 points and Reagynn Weeks added 4 points. 

JV- S. Hagerstown 36  N. Hagerstown 28   In a battle of the same city the JV N. Hagerstown Queens faced the JV S. Hagerstown Huskies this Sunday afternoon. The first quarter was won by N. Hagerstown, but the Huskies came back and took the lead in the second and third quarters. While N. Hagerstown won the final quarter, it wasn’t enough with S Hagerstown taking the win 36-28.   Husky Harmony Washington led all scorers with 13 points. Ra’Dae Ray added 10 points and Avalon Macena added 8 points. North Hagerstown was led by Blessing Engemise with 12 points and Annabel Fulghum-Roles with 10 points. Ryleigh Wilson, Dy’mera White, and Parker Armstrong each added 2 points. 

V - Linganore 37 West Frederick 34    West Frederick hosted Liganore Sunday afternoon in a battle of 2 division leaders. Linganore went into halftime with a 4 point lead 16-12 after a back and forth 1st half. The fourth quarter was the highest scoring quarter for both teams. Linganores Kennedy Poffenbarger scored 8 points in the 4th and grew the Lancers lead. West Frederick’s scrappy defense and a late 3 by Shaniah Swanson gave the Cadets hope. In the end Linganore was able to hold on and won the game 37-34. West Frederick was led in scoring by Seales(9), Swanson(8), and Henderson (8). Linganores leading scorers were Corrigan(16) and Poffenbarger (14). 

JV - West Frederick 48 Linganore 23   West Frederick hosted Linganore on Sunday afternoon in a JV girls basketball matchup. The Cadets jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, setting a commanding tone from the opening tip. By halftime, West Frederick held a substantial advantage with a 27-10 lead. Khalasia Taylor,  Harper Chapman, and a strong performance, powering the Cadets' offense in the first half and throughout the game. Linganore's Lady Lancers showed solid defensive effort but struggled to generate consistent scoring and couldn't close the gap. V - FSK 37  Crestwood 25     The Crestwood Cavaliers took on FSK Eagle in a hard-fought matchup where FSK ultimately pulled away for a 37–25 victory. Crestwood showed grit and discipline, staying competitive behind the strong defensive effort of Heaven Burriss, who helped anchor the floor and led the Cavaliers with 14 points. Addie Murray chipped in nine to keep Crestwood within reach.    FSK Eagle proved steady and composed, led by Reese Smith with 16 points and Natalie Rill with 12. Their consistency and execution down the stretch made the difference and sealed the win.

JV - Crestwood 28  FSK 26   Crestwood hosted FSK at Tuscarora in a hard-fought matchup marked by strong offensive and defensive play from both teams. FSK held the lead at halftime, setting the stage for an intense second half. V - Urbana 39  Monocacy 35   In the last few minutes of the game with the score tied 28-28 Urbana went on a 9-0 scoring run and then held off Moncacy to win 39-35. It was an intense game with both teams playing hard agressive defense as Urbana had a small lead most of the game until their final run to pull away for the win. Dakota Washington led the winners with a game high 24 points,including a perfect 10-10 from the free throw line,and nailing 2 three-pointers.Bella Muniz added 6 points for Urbana.For Monocacy Hazel Gomez had 10 points and 7 rebounds,Jaclyn Albaugh scored 9 points with 7 rebounds,and Natalie Saxon added 5 points.

JV - Monocacy 29 Urbana 27   Monocacy and Urbana JV teams met at Thomas Johnson High School on Saturday evening.  The first quarter was tightly contested and it was a foreshadow of the rest of the game.  Laila Withersooon scored all seven of Urbana's points in the first quarter including a 3-pointer.  Monocacy countered with a 3-pointer from Princess Tanchik-Solovey and held an 8-7 lead at the end of the quarter.  Monocacy defense stiffened in the second quarter and London Martin added six points including a 3-pointer to give Monocacy at 17-9 lead at the half.  Urbana came back strong in the third quarter and cut Monocacy's lead to 22-20 behind scoring from four different players and a 3-pointer from Dru Joseph.  Joseph added another 3-pointer in the fourth quarter.  Key free throws from Monocacy's Tanchik-Solovey and strong defense in the closing minute completed Monocacy's 29-27 win.  Monocacy's London Martin led all scorers with 13 points (one 3-pointer and 4 of 5 free throws) followed by Princess Tanchik-Solovey with 10 (one 3-pointer and 5 of 8 free throws), McKayla Boateng with 4 and Jocelyn Neely with 2 points.  Dru Joseph led Urbana with 8 points (two 3-pointers), followed by Laila  Witherspoon with 7 (one 3-pointer), Caroline Suarez and Grace Alderhold with 4 points each and Sloka Vooturi and Julia Ackley with 2 points each.

V - West Fredrick 56  Ballenger Creek 18    The Lady Bulldogs hosted Lady Cadets in a conference match up.  The Lady Cadets sealed the win 56-18. With West Frederick defensive press caused many issues for the Lady Bulldogs, forcing the Lady Bulldogs to have multiple turnovers. The Lady Cadets took a big lead at the half 38-11. Shaniah Swanson and Nuria Timm came up big for the cadets combining for 17 points at the half.Second half Lady Bulldogs try to get something going on the offense side with Lady Bulldogs Olivia Meyers and Amaya Darrell contributing to the Lady Bulldogs offense. The Lady Cadets would keep there diamond defensive press going sealing the victory.  The Lady Bulldogs was led by Olivia Meyers with 10 points. Emily Le chipped in 4 points. The Lady Cadets was led by Nuria Timm with 17 points.  Shaniah Swanson contributed 9 points. Kadance Seales and Skyla Ambush  chipped in 9 points. Anaelle Kwadjambou added 7 points. 

JV - West Frederick 43  Ballenger Creek 34     The Jv lady Bulldogs was back in aganist the Lady Cadets. In a hard fought battle between the Lady Cadets and Lady Bulldogs the Lady cadets sealed the victory 43-34. First quarter was a defensive showdown between the Lady Bulldogs and Lady Cadets. The Lady Cadets would hold onto to a lead at the end of the first quarter 12-8. Second quarter Lady Cadets forced multiple turnovers going on a 10-2 run extending their lead 22-10.  Second half the Lady Cadets continue their run on the offensive side extending their lead 34-19 at the end of the third quarter. Fourth quarter the Lady Bulldogs applied defensive pressure on the Lady Bulldogs cutting the lead within 5. The Lady Cadets called a time to adjust and scored to extend their lead within 9 and sealed the victory. The Lady Bulldogs was led by Jada Dawson with 14 points. Jada Dawson helped the Lady Bulldogs in the fourth quarter scoring 10 of her 14 points in the fourth quarter. Emily Le chipped in 1: points. The Lady Cadets was led by phenomenal talented point guard Harper Chapman with 17 points.   Post player Sariya Brandon added 12 points. Khalasia Taylor chipped in 11 points.

V - Oakdale 52  North Hagerstown 19    It was a slow start for both Oakdale and North Hagerstown, as the Lady Bears held a narrow 9–3 lead at the end of the first quarter. Like their Little Sisters from the earlier game, the Lady Bears found their groove in the second quarter, and it carried through the remainder of the contest. Oakdale’s defensive pressure proved relentless, as they recorded 17 steals, led by Gabby Gonzales with eight. The Lady Bears were equally aggressive on the boards, pulling down 36 rebounds. Faith Bigham led the team with 12 rebounds, while Desiray Djoko added nine.  Oakdale outscored the Lady Knights 43–16 over the final three quarters to pull away for the convincing win.

The Lady Bears received scoring contributions from several players, led by Gonzales with 17 points. Bigham added 11, Tallulah Hammel scored 10, Stella Stefanick had six, Djoko finished with four, and Sophie Davis and Paige VanLeeuwen chipped in two points each. Gonzales also led the team in assists with three, while Davis and Briley Schreiber had two each, and Hammel and VanLeeuwen added one each. North Hagerstown was led by Sophia Wilson with eight points. Emma Morris and Ryleigh Wilson each scored four, and Blessing Engemise added three.

JV - Oakdale 49  North Hagerstown 16      Oakdale and North Hagerstown squared off in the Saturday afternoon matchup, with North Hagerstown’s Blessing Engemise setting the tone early. Engemise came out hot, scoring six of her nine points in the opening quarter to give the Lady Knights a 10–6 lead after one.   Oakdale found its groove in the second quarter and never looked back. The Lady Bears locked in defensively, recording 17 steals, led by Rina Tazisong with seven and Olivia Davis with four, and consistently turned North Hagerstown turnovers into points. Oakdale also controlled the glass, pulling down 35 rebounds, paced by Sophia Yowell with eight, Anna Mills with seven, and Reagan McElwee and Davis with four each. The Lady Bears dominated the remainder of the game, outscoring the Lady Knights 43–6 over the final three quarters.  There were several scoring contributors for the Lady Bears: Mills (10), McElwee (eight), Yowell and Davis (six each), Tazisong, Kayla DiPaolo, and Rishikka Nelluri (four each), Raelyn Scritchfield (three), and Adriana Elshafy-Allwein and Nora Nolke (two each).  Other scoring contributors for the Lady Knights were Dy’mera White (three), Ryleigh Wilson and Annabel Fulgum-Roles (two each).

V - Smithsburg 42  Williamsport 24      Williamsport hosted Smithsburg on Saturday night. Smithsburg jumped ahead early but Williamsport battled back after a 15-5 deficit to begin the second half. In the end Smithsburg pulled away and won 42-24. Top scorers for Smithsburg were V. Malot with 13 points and S. Gouff with 10 points. Scoring leaders for Williamsport were A. Butts with 14 and M. Smith with 5 points. 

JV - Smithsburg 28  Williamsport 16    Smithsburg visited Williamsport on Saturday evening and left with a 28-16 victory. The Leopards jumped out to a 7-2 first quarter lead and never looked back. Q. Cline paced Smithsburg with 11 points. A. Rhea was Williamsport's top scorer with 7 points.

V - Boonsboro 47  Clear Spring 26     The Boonsboro Warriors varsity girls basketball team delivered a strong performance at home, defeating the Clear Spring Blazers 47–26 in a commanding win. Boonsboro set the tone early with aggressive defense and balanced scoring, building momentum that carried through all four quarters. Clearspring matched the aggression in the full court defense, causing turn overs leading to more scoring opportunities.
Morgan Molesky led the Warriors with 12 points, while McKenna Regalia added 10 points in a solid all-around effort. Devin McCary chipped in 6 points as Boonsboro’s depth and teamwork proved to be the difference.   Clear Spring was led by Alyssa Stewart, who scored 12 points, and Khloe Hensley, who contributed 7 points for the Blazers.

JV - Boonsboro 25  Clear Spring 23    The Boonsboro Warriors girls JV basketball team edged out the Clear Spring Blazers in a hard-fought matchup, securing a 2-point victory.  Both teams battled throughout the game, with strong defensive play and momentum swings. The Warriors showed poise down the stretch, making key plays in the final minutes to hold off a determined Clear Spring comeback.
Boonsboro was led offensively by Delaney Slough, who finished with 8 points. Lily Pugh added 6 points, while Ellie Wiegand contributed 4 points to round out the Warriors’ scoring effort. For Clear Spring, Bella led all scorers with 9 points, and Amanda Robinson added 5 points in a strong performance for the Blazers.

V – Mt. Airy 48 Walkersville 18 Walkersville hosted Mt. Airy on Saturday afternoon. Walkersville was led by Gina Douds with 4 points. Mt. Airy was led by Maddie Hawkins with 21 points, Julissa Almonte with 15 points, and Lilly Grubic with 10 points.

JV - Mt. Airy 39 Walkersville 22  The Lady Lions hosted Mt. Airy on Saturday afternoon. Leading in points for Walkersville was Jasmine Hinton with 10 points and Gwen Beaver with 4 points. Mt. Airy was led by Maddy Janyska with 10 points, Kendall Cohen with 9 points, and Biance Roman with 8 points.

V - Middletown 35  Poolesville 28    Middletown hosted Poolesville Saturday and  the home team pulled out a 35-28 victory. Both teams traded baskets in the first half which led to multiple lead changes. Poolesville went into the half with a 17-15 lead. Middletown started the second half on a 8-2 run and took a 23-21 lead at the end of three. The second half belonged to Middletown, outscoring Poolesville 20-11. Poolesville’s defensive pressure caused problems for Middletown, resulting in 20 turnovers. Middletown countered by owning the boards, out-rebounding Poolesville 28-16.  Reagan Murphy led Middletown with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Stella Fogle (7 points), Avery Sacchetti (4 points), Micaela Zeigler (4 points), Addi Benler (2 points), and McKinna Hidalgo (2 points) also pitched in for Middletown. Poolesville was led in scoring by Lily Weyranch with 13 points, followed by Jayda Stanton (5 points), Reagan Mauer (3 points), Marley Mitchell (2 points), Margo Slonski (2 points), and Addy White (1 point)

JV - Middletown 30 Poolesville 24    The Middletown Knights defended their castle on Saturday evening, battling to a hard-earned 30–24 victory over the Poolesville Falcons. Middletown was paced by Caroline Souder, who led all scorers with 10 points, while Brylee Cameron added 8. Isabelle Hannon chipped in 5, and both Hannah Coon and E Wilson delivered strong contributions with 3 points each. Poolesville stayed competitive throughout, powered by a 9-point effort from Eva Devine, with Mia Stewart scoring 7 and Grace Mays adding 5. It was a competitive matchup from start to finish, with Middletown ultimately closing it out with poise down the stretch.

V - Catoctin 27  Monocacy 26   Catoctin made a clutch free throw with 4.3 seconds left to edge Monocacy 27-26.Both teams played agressive defense with Monocacy holding a 6-5 lead at halftime.Catoctin picked up the offense in the third quarter outscoring Monocacy 14-4 to take a 19-9 lead into the final period.Monocacy's full court pressure got them back into the game with an 8-0 run to tie the game at 19.The last few minutes was a battle with fouls being called on both teams,only to have Catoctin hitting the last free throw for the win. Jaclyn Albaugh led Monocacy with 10 points and 4 steals.Phoebe Smith added 5 points with 8 rebounds,and Alora Turner had 5 points and 7 assists.For the winners,Abigail Morlan and Nola Schildt each scored 9 points.

JV - Monocacy 32 Catoctin 29   Monocacy and Catoctin JV teams met at Thomas Johnson High School on the first Sunday of 2026.  The game began as a defensive battle.  Monocacy held a 6-5 lead at the end of the first quarter.  Monocacy got three field goals from Princess Tanchik-Solovey in the second quarter and extended its lead to 18-13 at halftime.  Catoctin had a strong defensive effort after the half and trimmed Monocacy's lead to 20-19 at the end of the third quarter.  Monocacy's fourth quarter was highlighted by four field goals from Princess Tanchik-Solovey and all four were critical to offset a 10 point quarter by Catoctin.  Catoctin's Peyton Wills hit a 3-pointer to cut Monocacy's lead to 28-27 late in the fourth quarter.  After Monocacy and Catoctin traded field goals, Monocacy's Amaya Lee hit a game clinching free throw to close the scoring and Monocacy's 32-29 win.  Monocacy's Princess Tanchik-Solovey led all scorers with 17 points followed by Jocelyn Neely with 4, Amaya Lee and McKayla Boateng with 3 points each, London Martin and Arianne "Tootie" Ayeboua with 2 points each and Cali Jackon with 1 point.  Addison Kreitz led Catoctin with 8 points, followed by Peyton WIlls with 7 (including a 3-pointer), Austyn Tsikerdanos with 6, Arabella Cantrell with 4 and Emma Santos and Addison Norwood with 2 points each.

V - Poolesville 35  FSK 25    Poolesville outlasts FSK in a defensive battle.  Poolesville used balanced scoring and a strong second half to pull away from FSK and secure a 35-25 victory in a hard-fought defensive matchup.  The game opened with both teams trading baskets and struggling to find offensive rhythm.  At halftime, Poolesville held a slim 16-15 lead, but came back from halftime energized and focused and began to separate themselves in the third quarter.  FSK tried to mount a comeback in the fourth quarter, but Poolesville’s defensive pressure held firm, limiting the Eagles to just 9 points in the second half.  Leading Poolesville with scoring was Lily Weyrauch with 7 points, Addy White with 5 points, and Reagan Mauer, Charlotte Afshar, and Brea Hebron with 4 points each.  Leading the Eagles with scoring was Nadalie Rill with an impressive 12 points and Reese Smith with 6 points. Allison Hagan, Lileean Honeycutt, and Raegan Dietz also contributed 2 points each for the Eagles.

JV - Poolesville 35  FSK 16   Poolesville used strong team defence, balanced scoring, and aggressive play to earn a 35-16 victory over the FSK Eagles. After a competitive first half, Poolesville pulled away in the second half by forcing turnovers, controlling the pace, and getting key baskets from multiple players.  The Eagles continued to battle, but Poolesville’s depth and balance began to show in the second half as different players stepped up offensively, sharing the offensive scoring across 8 different players.  Leading the Falcons in scoring were Maddy Sherrill (7 points) and Lilly Schimdt (7 points).  Also contributing to the win were Bella Armenta (5 points), Mia Stewart (4 points), Grace Mays (4 points), Cierra Layne (4 points), and Eva Devine and Lola Reyes with 2 points each.  Leading the Eagles with scoring were Madison Laney with 8 points and Abigail School with 6 points.  Moreisha Grant also contributed 2 points for the Eagles.

V - Linganore 34  Urbana 30    Kicking off the new year with the crosstown rivals Hawks and Lancers, The hawks came out with stingy D in the 1st quarter, at the end of the 1st the Hawks were up 9-2, in the second quarter the Lancers tightened up their D and went on a 11-6 run to close the gap at halftime to 15 - 13 Hawks lead. After halftime the Lancers continued their tight D and out scored the Hawks 14-7 in the third quarter, closing the quarter out with the Lancers holding a 27-22 lead of the Hawks, the fourth quarter was an even matched quarter with each team making runs to close the lead and then to extend the lead, at the end the Hawks ran out of time and the Lancers pulled out a 34-30 victory, the leading scorers for the Lancers were Natalie Corrigan with 17 points and Tori Capone with 6 points, leading the way for the Hawks was Dakota Washington with 15 points and Bella Muniz with 5 points. 

JV - Linganore 42  Urbana 21  In the opening game of the day, the Lancers used a second half surge to cruise to 42-21 victory over the Hawks.  There wasn't much scoring in the first quarter, but both teams found some scoring in the second quarter, as Linganore took a 16-10 lead into halftime.  The third quarter was the turning point in the game as the Lancers got scoring from several players and extended the lead to 18 points by the end of the frame, 34-16.  The Hawks weren't able to cut into the Lancer's lead in the fourth and fell to the Lancers, 42-21.  Linganore's scoring was spread around, with Harper Poehlman scoring nine, and Gabrielle Day, Quinn Chandler and Kaiya Gollick with eight points each.  The leading scorers for the Hawks were Dru Joseph and Caroline Suarez with six points each.  Hitting the boards for the Hawks were Joseph with seven and Suarez with three.  Leading the way in the steals for Urbana were Suarez, Leni Tsurapas and Julia Ackley with three each.

V - West Frederick 42 Oakdale 40     The Lady Bears and Lady Cadets met at The Den, with both teams ready for a battle. The opening quarter was evenly matched, as the game was tied 11–11 at the end of the first. West Frederick’s Nuria Timm found her rhythm in the second quarter, scoring half of her field goals, while the Lady Cadets’ defense limited Oakdale to just two points in the period. West Frederick took control and carried a 22–13 lead into halftime. Oakdale came out with renewed energy in the second half, outscoring the Lady Cadets 15–8 in the third quarter. Prisca Apenou led the surge with six of her eight points in the quarter, while also leading Oakdale in steals (three) and assists (four) and adding four rebounds. The Lady Bears continued their push in the fourth, trading baskets with the Lady Cadets. With the majority of Gabby Gonzales’ 12 points (nine) and Faith Bigham’s 12 points (eight) coming after halftime, Oakdale was seconds away from handing the undefeated Lady Cadets their first loss. West Frederick was led in scoring by Kadence Seales with 16 points, followed by Timm (13), Shania Swanson (six), Cally Romano (four), and Reagan Henderson (three). Oakdale received additional scoring from Tallulah Hammel (four points) and Briley Schreiber and Sophie Davis (two points each). Bigham also led the Lady Bears on the glass with six rebounds.

JV - West Frederick 39  Oakdale  26   Oakdale hosted West Frederick in The Den before the back-to-school grind. The Lady Cadet’s aggressive defense helped them build a 27–14 halftime lead over the Lady Bears. Oakdale responded after the break, tightening up defensively and holding the Lady Cadets to just nine points in the third quarter and three in the fourth. The Lady Bears attacked the boards in the second half, collecting the majority of their rebounds after halftime. Anna Mills led the effort with eight rebounds, while Rina Tazisong and Rishikka Nelluri added six each. Despite the strong second-half push, Oakdale was unable to overcome the early deficit. West Frederick was led offensively by Harper Chapman with 13 points, followed by Sariya Brandon with 10, Khalasia Taylor with nine, and Grace Spurgers with seven. Oakdale found many Lady Bears on offense today and received scoring contributions from Tazisong (seven points), Reagan McElwee (five), Kayla DiPaolo (four), and Kaitlyn Angelberger (three), with Adriana Elshafy-Allwein, Sophia Yowell, Nelluri, and Mills rounding out the scoring.

V - Ballenger Creek 45 Walkersville 24     Walkersville hosted Ballenger Creek at Walkersville High School Sunday evening. Walkersville was led by Payton Frank with 6 points and Harper McLellan, Kyle Wareham, and Julianna Douds each with 4 points. Ballenger was led by Olivia Meyers with 25 points and Payton Blanc with 10 points. 

JV - Ballenger Creek 27  Walkersville 18   From the opening tip, Ballenger Creek's defense was on full display, limiting Walkersville to just 18 points throughout the game. Ballenger creek took the lead in the first half to take the lead 12 to 2 both teams battled, but Ballenger Creek maintained the lead into halftime. In the second half, Walkersville’s offense began to click, as they capitalized on fast breaks and hit key shots when it mattered most. Walkersville struggled to break through Ballenger Creek's defensive schemes, and despite a few solid plays, they couldn't gain the momentum needed for a comeback. Ballenger Creek’s balanced attack, with strong contributions from several players, ensured the win. Ultimately, Ballenger Creek’s defense and disciplined play were the difference makers, securing the 27-18 win. Walkersville scorers were Jayla Smith with 8 points and Jay'Lynn Adam's with 4 points. Ballenger Creek scorers were Emily Le with 12 points, Clara Main with 5 points and Logan Achten with 4.

V - Brunswick 38 North Hagerstown 17     North Hagerstown hosted Brunswick in the their first game of the new year. From the beginning Brunswick came out strong 13-3 at the end of the first quarter and continued the same pace into the second quarter. By the second half, North Hagerstown was able to slow and match the strong Brunswick offense, but ultimately they were unable to over come the earlier deficit. Brunswick took home the win 38-17.
Brunswick’s Makayla Ciccarelli led all scorers with 19 points. Josie Spevak added 6 points and Galiee Shullenbarger contributed 4 points.
North Hagerstown was led by Bilghie Normil and Annabel Fulghum-Roles with 5 points a piece. Sophia Wilson, Skye White, and Emma Morris each added 2 points. 

JV -  Brunswick 30 North Hagerstown 26    Brunswick visited North Hagerstown this Sunday afternoon in a tightly contested battle. Brunswick led the first quarter 10-6 and while North Hagerstown fought hard and closely trailed Brunswick for the entirety of the game, Brunswick went home with the win 30-26.
Brunswick’s Harper Wagoner led all scorers with 14 points. Jubille Shullenbarger, Emma Higgins, and Sydney Badstibner each added 4 points.
North Hagerstown was led by Skye White and Blessing Engemise with 9 points a piece. Ryleigh Wilson contributed 4 points, and Naimeh Jalloh and Annabel Fulghum-Roles each added 2 points.

V - Middletown 29 Windsor Knolls 22   After nine lead changes, Middletown emerged victorious over Windsor knolls, 29-22, on Sunday. Middletown trailed 11-6 at halftime before coming back for the victory. Trailing 20-19, Middletown went on a 10-point run to take the lead and outscored Windsor knolls 23-11 in the second half. Reagan Murphy scored 16 points, collected 8 boards, and had 3 blocks. Lily Hockman (5 points), Addi Benler (3 points), Stella Fogle (3 points), and Lily Kopelson (2 points) also pitched in for Middletown. Windsor Knolls was led in scoring by Audrey Langham with 8 points. Addison Molnar (6 points), Grace Rahmati (3 points), Annalia Kline (2 points), Kayleigh Golden (2 points), and Avery Fox (1 point) also contributed for Windsor Knolls.

JV - Windsor Knolls 43  Middletown 16    Middletown hosted Windsor Knolls on Sunday afternoon in a matchup that showcased the Wolverines’ depth and energy. Windsor Knolls set the pace early, building momentum in the opening quarter and maintaining control throughout the contest on their way to a 43–16 win. The Wolverines’ intensity on both ends of the floor, relentless rebounding, and efficient shooting proved to be the difference, as they consistently capitalized on scoring opportunities. Despite facing an uphill battle, Middletown continued to compete, showing flashes of strong defensive play and perseverance throughout the game. Hannah Coon led the Knights with 8 points, while Samantha Morders and Isabelle Hannon each added 3, contributing to Middletown’s scoring. Chloe Merriwether paced Windsor Knolls with 12 points, with Veda Pydiganta and Annabel Shelhorse providing strong support with 10 and 11 points, respectively.

Mt Airy 47 S. Hagerstown 33. The Bulldogs and Lady Huskies went back and forth in the first half with the Bulldogs taking a 21-17 lead at halftime. Julissa Almonte and Lily Grubic helped Mt Airy extend their lead by scoring 12 and 7 points respectively in the second half. Malaya Moore and Bella Ray did all they could to keep the Huskies close, leading the way with 16 points each. Almonte finished with 14 and Grubic added 9 for Mt Airy. 

JV - Mt Airy 38   S. Hagerstown 20    You could tell it was an early start as it took both teams some time to find their groove. Kendall Cohen hit a three pointer at the buzzer to give Mt Airy a 10-5 lead after the first quarter. Micaela Uzzo scored 6 points in the second as the Bulldogs extended their lead 21-9 at halftime. Harmony Washington scored 9 of her game high 14 points in the fourth but the lead was too much to overcome. Leading scorers for South Hagerstown were Washington with 14 and Ra’dae Ray with 4. Uzzo finished with 13 for Mt Airy and Cohen added 8 points.

V – West Frederick 69  South Hagerstown 12   Lady Cadets Varsity never trailed in their 69-12 victory over South Hagerstown Huskies to start off the new year on Saturday January 3, 2026. Lady Cadets had a strong first half, leading 16-3 at halftime and never looked back, securing the victory. Leading 50-12, Lady Cadets went on a 19-point run to pull further away. Lady Cadets played stifling defense, blocking five shots and grabbing 31 steals. Lady Cadets controlled the paint, grabbing 47 rebounds. Cally Romano led the team with 14 rebounds. Lady Cadets passed the ball well with 12 assists on 32 made baskets. Top Scorer leading all scorers was the Cadets Shaniah Swanson with 24 points. Other top scorers for the Cadets were Kadence Seales (17 points), Cally Romano (9 points), Nuria Timm (9 points), and Reagan Henderson (8 points). The Huskies top scorer was Malaya Moore with 7 points and Bella Ray with 5 points. 69-12 Cadets

JV - West Frederick 50  South Hagerstown 6   With the first game of the 2026 the Lady Cadets played as if they didn’t missed two weeks of no practice and no games! For the WFMS Cadets the following players for them were:   Taylor #5 with 14points Chapman #11 14points Brandon#24 with 12points.  For the Lady Huskies  Avalon#23 with 5points had the most for them! The Huskies played with determination and true confidence in what they wanted to accomplish. So the score was lopsided but the team showed they were willing to sacrifice and play to the will of the coaching staff

V - Oakdale 44  Walkersville 41 Walkersville hosted Oakdale on Saturday afternoon, and it was a battle from the beginning. Both teams came out hot and ended the first quarter 7-7. Walkersville turned up the heat in the second quarter outscoring Oakdale 20-8 ending the first half Walkersville up 27-15. But that did not stop Oakdale. Oakdale came out swinging, closing the gap and tying up the game by the end of the fourth quarter and winning it all by the end of overtime. Walkersville was led by Payton Zile with 17 points and Brynn Ambush with 7 points. Oakdale was led by Faith Bigham with 17 points, Gabrielle Gonzales with 14 points, and Prisca Apenou with 11 points. 

JV - Walkersville 35 Oakdale 26 The Lady Lions hosted Oakdale on Saturday in a hard-fought matchup. Walkersville and Oakdale went head-to-head through all four quarters, but the Lady Lions weren’t about to let it be an easy game. They dominated the first half and kept control of the lead throughout the second half. Leading the charge for Walkersville were Jasmine Hinton with 12 points, Jayla Smith contributing 10 points, and Adelyn Martin adding 4 points. For Oakdale, Reagon McElwee led the team with 7 points, while Rishikka Nelluri scored 5 points. Kaitlyn Angelberger and Anna Mills each finished with 4 points.

V – Brunswick 33 Windsor Knolls 27 In a hard-fought defensive battle that saw momentum swing back and forth, the Brunswick varsity girls' middle school team utilized a dominant third-quarter performance to defeat Windsor Knolls 33-27. The contest began as a defensive stalemate. Both teams struggled to find an offensive rhythm in the opening quarter, with Brunswick holding a slim 8-5 lead at the end of the first. The tight play continued into the second quarter, as both squads added only a few baskets to their totals. By halftime, Brunswick maintained a narrow 12-8 advantage.  The game was ultimately decided in the third quarter as Brunswick’s offense came alive, erupting for 16 points while their defense stifled Windsor Knolls, holding them to just 4 points. This 12-point swing gave Brunswick a comfortable 28-12 lead heading into the final quarter.  Windsor Knolls  refused to go down without a fight. Behind a late-game surge, they outscored Brunswick 15-5 in the fourth quarter, cutting deep into the lead. However, the third-quarter deficit proved too large to overcome, and Brunswick held on to finalize the 33-27 win. For Brunswick, the 11 point scorer was Kayla Ciccarelli, and the 7 point scorer was Galilee Shulllenbarger Kaleigh Golden led Windsor Knolls with eight points and Grace Rammati scored seven points.

JV - Windsor Knolls 39  Brunswick 14    The JV Lady Wolverines defended their home court Saturday afternoon, hosting Brunswick in a high-energy matchup. From the opening tip, Windsor Knolls set the tone with relentless full-court pressure that immediately rattled Brunswick. That aggressive defense quickly turned into offense, as the Wolverines raced out to a dominant 16–0 lead at the end of the first quarter. WK showed no signs of slowing down in the second, continuing to force turnovers and control the tempo. By halftime, the Lady Wolverines had built a commanding 28–1 advantage.  Brunswick came out with renewed determination in the second half, battling hard and chipping away with 14 points after the break. However, the Wolverines stayed composed and finished strong, securing a 39–15 victory. 
    Brunswick was led by S. Badstibner with 6 points, while E. Higgins and A. Tucker each added 4. J. Shullenburger chipped in 1 point.  Windsor Knolls showcased impressive depth, with ten players finding the scoring column. A. Shelhorse led the way with 8 points, followed by C. Merriwether with 6 and T. Fox with 5. R. Motes, H. Burchick, C. Gorham, and V. Pydiganta each contributed 4 points, while K. Gecelosky, R. Nass, and L. Chadwell-English rounded out the scoring with 2 points apiece.

V – Mt Airy 45  Ballenger Creek 32   The Varsity Ballenger Bulldogs hosted the Mt Airy Lady Bulldogs. Mt Airy Bulldogs sealed the win 45-32. Mt Airy Lady Bulldogs started the game off hot taking the lead at the end of the first quarter 12-3. Second quarter the Ballenger Lady Bulldogs started to find their offensive rhythm scoring 10 points in the second quarter. Mt.Airy Lady Bulldogs held onto to there lead at the end of the first half 22-13. Third quarter the Mt Airy Lady Bulldogs started the second quarter extending their lead to 14. After a timeout by the Ballenger Lady Bulldogs, Ballenger Bulldogs regroup and forced turnovers and Jada Dawson led the way for the  Ballenger Bulldogs scoring 5  clutch points in the third quarter.  Ballenger Bulldogs would cut the Mt Airy Bulldogs lead by 5 at the end of the third quarter.  Fourth quarter Mt Airy Bulldogs extended there lead from start to  finish in the fourth quarter scoring 14 points in the fourth quarter to seal the win. The Lady Ballenger Bulldogs was led by Jada Dawson with 10 points. Emily Le, Amaya Darrell and Lucy Weise  each chipped in 5 points. Clara Main scored 4 points. Julissa Almonte led the Mt Airy Bulldogs with 13 points. Scoring 9 of her 13 points in the second half. Lily Grubie chipped in 10 points. Carlie Alexander added 8 points. Lily Kaye contributed 7 points. Cadence Sprau scored 4 points. 

JV – Mt Airy 31  Ballenger Creek 15   The Jv Ballenger Lady Bulldogs was back in action against the Mt.Airy Lady Bulldogs. Mt.Airy Bulldogs sealed the win 31-15. Mt Airy Bulldogs jump out quick shutting out the Ballenger Lady Bulldogs in the first quarter 10-0. Second quarter the Lady Ballenger Bulldogs guard Emily Le scored all of Ballenger 3 points in the second quarter. Mt.Airy held onto the lead 15-3 at the end of the first half. Second half Mt Airy Bulldogd came out hot on the offensive side continuing their lead by 20 and ended the third quarter with the lead of  25-9 and sealing the victory. The Ballenger Lady Bulldogs was led by Clara main with 5 points. Emily Le chipped in 3 points. The Mt Airy Lady Bulldogs was led by Maddy Janyska with 13 points.Avery Corcoran chipped in 9 points.  Abella Murphy added 4 points. 

V – Linganore 52  FSK 21   After a long holiday break, the Lancers from Linganore rode into the Eagles' nest of FSK and handled business on this chilly Saturday, winning 52 - 21. FSK hung in a feisty game until Halftime, and then Linganore's press and offensive ball movement took over.  The Lancers were led in scoring by Natalie Corrigan, who poured in a game-high 19 points. Hinkel, Harris, and Zyczkiewicz all chipped in with 5 points of their own.   FSK was led in scoring by Nadalie Rill with a team high 6 points. Reese Smith also added 5 points of her own.  

JV – Linganore 62  FSK 17   FSK JV hosted Linganore Saturday afternoon. Linganore came away with a commanding win 62-17. Led by Harper Poehlman with 17 points and Quinn Chandler with 12 points. Moreisha Grant led FSK with 8 points.

V – Catoctin 21  Middletown 19   Middletown lost a close game to Catoctin, 21-19, on Saturday. The defenses both shined in the first quarter, with Catoctin leading 5-4 after one. Middletown outscored Catoctin in the second quarter and took a 11-6 lead into halftime.  After the half, trailing 13-6, Catoctin went on a 12-point run to take the lead. Middletown mounted a comeback but in the end, Catoctin held on for the 21-19 win. Catoctin leading scorers were Alice Watson, Abby Moran, and Elaina Case each with 5 points, followed by Austin Droneburg (4 points) and Austyn Tsikerdanos (2 points).  Reagan Murphy scored 10 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for Middletown. Also contributing for Middletown were Stella Fogle (3 points), Addi Benler (2 points), Micaela Zeigler (2 points), and Lily Kopelson (2 points).

JV - Middletown 41 Catoctin 9   The Middletown Lady Knights hosted the Catoctin Lady Cougars on Saturday afternoon. Middletown established an early rhythm and played consistently on both ends of the floor, extending their lead in the second half to earn a 41–9 victory. Brylee Cameron led the Lady Knights with 10 points, followed by Hannah Coon with 9 and Isabelle Hannon with 7. Catoctin was led by Peyton Wills with 4 points, along with Austyn Tsikerdanos, who also contributed 4.

V - Williamsport 39 Crestwood 36    Crestwood Varsity hosted Williamsport at home in a strong, tightly contested matchup from start to finish. Williamsport held a slim advantage at halftime, leading 18–12. Crestwood battled back throughout the second half and kept the game within reach, trailing by just one point heading into the final quarter. Despite Crestwood’s late push, Williamsport won the final battle to secure a 39–36 victory.   Heaven Burriss led Crestwood with 18 points, followed by Addie Murray with 11. Williamsport was paced by T. Brown with 11 points and A. Butts with 10.

JV- Crestwood 32 Williamsport 5   Crestwood hosted Williamsport at Tuscarora High School and set the tone early with strong play on both ends of the floor. The Cavaliers jumped out to an early lead and maintained control throughout the first half, heading into the break up 16–5. Crestwood continued its dominant performance after halftime, keeping the defensive pressure on and closing the game with an 11–0 run in the fourth quarter. The Cavaliers secured a convincing 32–5 victory. Addie Murray led Crestwood with 15 points, while Brooklyn Williams added Seven. Williamsport was paced by Rose Benchoft and Elsa Reynolds, who each finished with two points.

 

 

Game Summaries for 12/21/25

 

V - Brunswick 42   Boonsboro 39     In a back and forth contest that was tight throughout, Brunswick hit several key buckets late to come away with a 42-39 victory.  Galilee Shullenbarger led the way for the Railroaders with 16 points, including 12 of 14 shooting from the free throw line.  Kayla Ciccarelli chipped in with 8 points, Josie Spevak contributed 6 points,  and Skylar French hit two key second half shots for Brunswick, finishing with 4 points.  Ruby Renn had 3 points for the Railroaders, while Maggie Kay (2 points), Katie Paschalides (2 points), and Jollene Droneburg (1 point) rounded out the scoring for Brunswick.  

For Boonsboro, Morgan Molesky led the way with 9 points, while Jules Wetzel, Jordyn Dembo, Madalyn Wheeler, and Caroline Plumadore each had 6.  Grace Smith chipped in with 4, and McKenna Regalia and Devin McCary each scored 1.  Boonsboro led 20-19 at the half.  The score was tied at the end of 3 quarters, setting the stage for an exciting finish.  

JV - Boonsboro 21  Brunswick 15   Both teams started a little sluggish with the score tied 4-4 after the first quarter.  Boonsboro then outscored Brunswick 9-2 in the second quarter behind Delaney Slough's 6 points.

Brunswick cut into the lead in the third quarter but the deficit was just too much to overcome.  Boonsboro had six players score in this contest, led by Slough with 8 and Bella Gordon with 4.

Brunswick was led in scoring by Emma Higgins and Harper Wagoner each with 5 points, while Adrienne Tucker followed with 4.  

V - Urbana 32 Windsor Knolls 20     The Hawks and Wolverines squared off for the last game before Christmas break, the Hawks started off fast in the 1st quarter with a 13-5 lead at the end of the Quarter, Windsor Knolls was led by Grace Rahmati with 3 points and the Hawks were led by Dakota Washington and Jacey Abreu with 5 points each. The second quarter was an offensive struggle for both teams with limited scoring, the Hawks held a halftime lead of 16-7. After the break the wolverines closed the gap outscoring the Hawks 9-6 to close out the quarter down 22-16. The Hawks picked up the pace in the fourth quarter and outscored the Wolverines 10-4 to end the game with a 32-20 win. Leading Scorers for the Wolverines were Kayleigh Golden with 8 points and Grace Rahmati with 5 points, the Hawks were paced by Dakota Washington with 11 points and 9 steals, followed by Bella Muniz with 9 points and 6 steals, Jacey Abreu and Emerson Jarvis chipped in 5 points each. Makayla Randolph and Sophia Villegas lead the Hawks in rebounding with 7 rebounds each. 

JV - Urbana 16 Windsor Knolls 34     In a local rivalry, the Wolverines attacked early and often and cruised to a 34-16 victory over the Hawks.  WK's pressure turned defense into instant offense and the Hawks couldn't buy a basket.  Annabel Shelhorse controlled the low post, putting up 14 first half points, leading WK to a 25-2 halftime lead.  The Hawks found a little something after halftime and put up a good battle in the second half, behind Leni Tsurapas' four points and Shanvi Nandal's 3 points.  In the end it wasn't enough, as the Wolverines finished with the 34-16 victory.  Leading the scoring for WK was Shelhorse with 17 points, Chloe Merriwether with seven and Megan Crowell with four.  The leading scorers for the Hawks were Tsurapas with four, Nandal and Naomi Shorts with three each.  Hitting the boards for the Hawks were Caroline Suarez with 11, Dru Joseph with five and Jenna Jeffries with four.  Leading the way in the steals for Urbana was Joseph with seven and Julia Ackley with three.

V - Clear Spring 45 South 19   In the first meeting of the season between South Hagerstown and Clear Spring, the Blazers come out on top 45-19. Clear Spring would jump out to an early lead in the first quarter 12-3 and never look back. By halftime the Blazers would hold a 22-6 lead and would finish the game with all players in the box score for a final 45-19. South was led by Avalon with 14 points. Clear Spring had all nine girls score and were led by Hensley with 8 points and Stewart with 7 points.    

JV - Clear Spring 32 South 21    The Lady Blazers JV hosted South Hagerstown JV in a tight game through the first three quarters until the Blazers would pull away in the fourth for a 32-21 victory. Clear Spring would take a three-point lead into halftime 11-8. In the third quarter both teams would come out ready to play and battle however the Blazers defense would start to turn up the heat and get steals leading to a final score of 32-21 Blazers. South was led by Mosena with 8 points. The Blazers were led by Blair with 12 points and Greene with 10 points.

V - Mt. Airy 36  Oakdale  32   The Lady Bears were ready for the matchup at The Oakdale Den against the Mt. Airy Lady Bulldogs. Oakdale found Faith Bigham early and often as she dropped 13 of her 15 points in the first half. Oakdale led the game at the half 22-15. 

But Mt. Airy came back after the half with four of their players hitting 58% of their points (21 of 36 points): Lily Grubic (12 points), Reagan Kalbaugh and Maddy Janyska (four points each), and Lily Kaye (one of five total points). 

Although Oakdale had six steals and 30 rebounds (led by Bigham, nine, and Paige VanLeeuwen and Tallulah Hammel, six each), it was not enough to pull out the victory. 

Mt. Airy’s other contributors were Kendall Cohen (five points), Carlie Alexander (four points), and Cadence Sprau (two points). While Oakdale’s contributors were VanLeeuwen (six points), Hammel (four points), Desiray Djoko (three points), and Briley Schreiber and Stella Stefanick (two points each). 

JV - Mt. Airy 27   Oakdale - 21   Oakdale invited Mt. Airy into The Den before Winter Break hibernation. Mt. Airy’s Maddy Janyska came out hot, dropping 9 of her 10 points in the first half, which allowed the Lady Bulldogs to take the lead into the half 19-9. 

Although Oakdale could not find the boards in the third quarter, their defense was strong and held Mt. Airy to five. The Lady Bears found spunk with Rina Tazisong’s five steals in the second half and outscoring Mt. Airy in the fourth quarter 10-3, but it was a little too late. Mt. Airy was able to keep the lead with Janyska (10 points), Ashlynn Harrison (six points), Kendall Cohen and Etta Barkley (four points each), and Micaela Lizzie (3 points). 

Oakdale had several contributors on offense - Reagan McElwee (six points), Raelyn Scritchfield (five points), Kayla DiPaolo (four points), and Kaitlyn Angelberger, Tazisong, and Anna Mills (two points). Additionally, Oakdale grabbed 23 rebounds - led by Mills and Sophia Yowell (four each).

V - Middletown 33 Walkersville 20    Reagan Murphy scored 14 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead Middletown past Walkersville, 33-20, on Sunday.  Middletown controlled the game from the opening tip, never giving up the advantage. The lead reached a peak of 15 points at 30-15.  Middletown got out to a 17-11 lead at halftime before closing out the victory. Leading 21-15, Middletown went on a 9-point run to pull further away. Walkersville continued to fight, narrowing the lead with a 7-4 run to end the game. Murphy pounded the glass, collecting 12 rebounds to lead Middletown . Stella Fogle (5 points), Avery Sacchetti (4 points), Charlotte Moore (4 points), Micaela Zeigler (4 points), and McKinna Hidalgo (2 points) helped out Middletown as well.  Walkersville was led in scoring by Harper M with 9 points. Walkersville had contributions from Payten Z (5 points), Payton F (4 points), and Kyle W (2 points). 

JV - Middletown 33 Walkersville 31   The Middletown Lady Knights hosted the Walkersville Lady Lions on Saturday afternoon for a gritty JV battle that went down to the final moments. Middletown fought through the first three quarters and built an impressive 11-point lead heading into the fourth quarter, appearing to be in control.  But, Walkersville wasn’t backing down. The Lady Lions stormed out with relentless defensive pressure and dominated the glass, putting the Lady Knights on their heels and slicing into the lead. Middletown struggled to respond but managed to survive the late push, escaping with a narrow 33–31 victory.  Caroline Souder led all scorers with 12 points for the Lady Knights, while Hannah Coon chipped in 9. Walkersville was led by Jayla Smith with 9 points and Jasmine Hinton with 8, as the Lady Lions nearly completed an impressive fourth-quarter comeback.

V - Poolesville 35 Catoctin 32 (OT)    Poolesville's Varsity Girls went four-for-four from the line in overtime to edge Catoctin by a final score of 35-32. The Falcon's Jayda Stanton scored 10 of her game-high 12 points in the closely fought second half. Marley Mitchel hit for all nine of her points in the second half and in overtime, including two big free throws to help ice the game. Lily Weyrauch finished with six points for the Falcons. Reagan Mauer (two points in OT) and Addy White (two critical free throws in overtime) made big plays in the extra period. Sofia Nalvarte and Camille Morrow also scored in the win. Catoctin's Alice Watson kept the Cougars close all game long by scoring eight of her team-high 10 points in the second half and overtime. Abigail Morlan was a similar force with all nine of her points in the second half. Austin Droneburg kept the pace for the visitors with seven points. Nola Schildt, Scarlette Riffle, and Ellaina Case pitched in two points each in the loss.

JV - Poolesville 42 Catoctin 15    Paced by 13 points from Lily Schmidt and 10 from Mia Stewart, Poolesville's JV Girls opened up a 20-4 halftime lead and never looked back in their 42-15 win over visiting Catoctin. All nine Falcons ended up in the scorebook, with Isa DeVriendt pitching in five points, Grace Mays adding four, and Bella Armenta, Maddy Sherrill, Eva Devine, Lorelei Hoffmann, and Lola Reyes all notching two points each. Catoctin's Austyn Tsikerdanos (six points) and Addison Kreitz (four points) handled most of the scoring for the visitors, with Peyton Wills and Arabella Cantrell also scoring in the loss.

V - Crestwood 27  Ballenger Creek 23     Crestwood took on their neighbors, Ballenger Creek Middle, in a very competitive and physical matchup. Both teams played with high energy, but Crestwood raised the level defensively, turning up the pressure and forcing key turnovers that helped swing momentum. 

Crestwood was led by Heaven Burriss, who poured in 13 points and came away with numerous steals, setting the tone on both ends of the court. Addie Murray and Brooklyn Williams followed with six points each, providing steady support.

JV - Ballenger Creek 25  Crestwood 11        The Ballenger Creek Bulldogs earned a road victory against the Crestwood Cavaliers, winning 25–11 in a hard-fought matchup at Crestwood Middle School. Ballenger Creek set the tone early with strong defense and consistent scoring, maintaining control throughout the game. Emily Le led the Bulldogs with an impressive nine points, helping propel her team to the win.   Crestwood showed determination and teamwork despite the loss. Addie Murray led the Cavaliers in scoring with four points, continuing to be a steady presence for her team.  Both teams demonstrated effort and sportsmanship, making it a competitive and energetic game for middle school girls basketball.

Ballenger Creek was led by Jada Dawson with nine points. Arianna Tineo, Clara Main, and Lucy Weise each added four in a balanced scoring effort.

V - Monocacy 27  West Frederick 24    Hazel Gomez scored 10 points with 7 rebounds as Monocacy edged West Frederick 27-24.The winners held an 11 point lead and had to hold off a strong fourth quarter defensive effort by West Frederick. 

Monocacy got 6 points from Natalie Saxon and 5 points from Alora Turner.Leading scorers for West Frederick was Kadence Seales with a game high 11 points and Shaniah Swanson adding 7 points.

JV - West Frederick 49  Monocacy 26    Monocacy and West Frederick JV teams met Sunday afternoon at Thomas Johnson High School.  West Frederick started fast and scored on the opening tip and took a 15-7 lead at the end of the first quarter.  West Frederick scoring included multiple field goals each from Khalasia Taylor (three), Grace Spurgers (including one 3-pointer) and Sariya Brandon (two).  Monocacy countered with multiple buckets from Princess Tanchik-Solovey including a 3-pointer.  West Frederick continued the same pace in the second quarter with Harper Chapman scoring seven points including a 3-pointer and 4 free throws.  Monocacy's highlight was a 3-pointer from London Martin.  West Frederick led 28-14 at halftime.  West Frederick hit the accelerator after the half and had scores from five different players led by Harper Chapman with a 3-pointer and three field goals from Sariya Brandon.  West Frederick led 46-18 at the end of the third quarter.  West Frederick cruised to a 49-26 win.  West Frederick's Khalasia Taylor led all scorers with 15 points, followed by Sariya Brandon with 11, Harper Chapman with 10, Grace Spurgers with 7, Brooklyn Ellis with 4 and Kendall Stansbury with 2 points.  Princess Tanchik-Solovey led Monocacy with 7 points, followed by London Martin, Catherine Manyacka and Arianne "Tootie" Ayeboua with 5 points each, and Cali Jackson and Jocelyn Neely with 2 points each..

V - Smithsburg 38  North Hagerstown 21   North Hagerstown Varsity hosted a great competitor in the Smithsburg Varsity team this Sunday. Smithsburg came out strong in the first quarter with a 8-0 run. North Hagerstown fought hard but couldn’t overcome the Smithsburg offense,
Smithsburg’ Camryn Gouff led all scorers with 14 points. Jasmine Tyler contributed with 6pts and Elyse Anderson and Gabby Sewell added 5 pts a piece. 
North Hagerstown was led by Bilghie Normil with 8 points. Mckenzie Thomas added 6 and Sophia Wilson added 4 pts.

JV - Smithsburg 27 North Hagerstown 20

North Hagerstown hosted Smithsburg this Sunday afternoon in a tightly contested battle. Tied 4-4 in the first and by the 3rd quarter there was only 1 point separating the 2 teams, Smithsburg came away with the win 27-20.  Top scorers for North Hagerstown included Blessing Engemise with 8 pts, Skye White with 6, Ryleigh Wilson added 4pts.
For Smithsburg Quinn Cline and Maggie Herbst added 10 pts a piece and Kenzie Pugh with 3.

 V – West Frederick 30  Mt Airy 16    Lady Cadets Varsity, secured the win, 30-16, over Mt Airy on Saturday 20 December 2025 at Frederick High School. Leading 9-8, Lady Cadets went on a 13-point run to pull further away. Lady Cadets got out to a 17-8 lead at halftime before closing out the victory. Lady Cadets bested Mt Airy 10-4 in the second quarter, their strongest of the game. Ashlynn Harrison of Mt Airy was persistent at finding opportunities to draw fouls and capitalize on them, as she made 4 of her 6 free throws in the second half of the game. Lady Cadets were led in scoring by Kadence Seales, Reagan Henderson, and Nuria Timm who scored six points each. Lady Cadets rebounded the ball well, collecting 43 rebounds. Timm led the team with 11 rebounds. Lady Cadets swiped 17 steals in the game. Kaleah Hayes led the team with five steals. Also contributing for Lady Cadets were Hayes (5 points), Jordan Shook (4 points), and Shaniah Swanson (3 points). JV – West Frederick 39  Mt Airy 29    Despite the final  score the game was tough for both teams and the outcome was not determined until late 4th quarter. Both teams were in no quit mood!   Absolutely a great game for both teams and plenty of action!

V - Williamsport 38  North Hagerstown 13     Williamsport hosted North Hagerstown in a battle of Washington County teams. A tightly contested first half ended with Williamsport leading 12-9. The Lady Cats increased their defensive pressure and transition in the second half to pull away and win 38-13. Williamsport was led in scoring by Addy Butts with 16 points followed by Trinity Brown with seven points. Ryleigh Wilson led the way for North Hagerstown with seven points.

JV - North Hagerstown 24  Williamsport 17     North Hagerstown visited Williamsport Saturday night for a JV contest and left with a 24-17 victory. The game stayed close throughout with a lot of end-to-end action. North Hagerstown was able to hold off a late Williamsport rally for the win. Blessing Engemise led the way for North Hagerstown scoring 19 points. Finley Chambers led Williamsport with 8 points.

V - FSK 48  Crestwood 36   On this seasonal Saturday in Union Bridge, the Cavaliers rode into town ready to battle with the   Home team, the Eagles. Crestwood fought a hard fight, led in scoring by Addie Murray with a game-high 16 points. Teammate Heaven Burris dropped in another 6. FSK was led in scoring by Nadalie Rill with 13, followed by teammate Rickie Smith, with double digits 10. Ava Senseny chipped in with a modest 6 points. The effort was valiant for Crestwood, but it wasn’t enough to pull away from the Eagles claws late. The Eagles scored to victory, 48-36

JV - Crestwood 36  FSK 20    Crestwood took home the win. Both teams played great defense in the first quarter, keeping  the game close. Crestwood would pull away after that behind Addie Murray’s 24 points. FSK  never gave up but fell shy of a comeback. Abigail Scholl led FSK JV with 10 points.

V – Monocacy 27  Windsor Knolls 16   In a contest defined by lockdown defense and opportunistic scoring, Monocacy managed to hold off WKMS for a hard-fought victory on Saturday. While the scoreboard remained tight throughout the first half, Monocacy’s offensive surge in the final period proved to be the difference-maker.
The game began as a tactical stalemate. Both teams struggled to find a rhythm in the first quarter, with WKMS putting up seven points to Monocacy’s five. The second quarter mirrored the first, as defensive pressure from both sides forced difficult shots and turnovers. At the half, WKMS held a narrow lead, with the score sitting at 10-9.
The momentum began to shift in the third quarter. Monocacy’s Audra Turner (#21) sparked the offense, contributing to a 7-point quarter that allowed her team to keep pace. However, it was the fourth quarter where Monocacy finally broke through. Monocacy poured in 10 points in the final quarter. Jaclyn Albaugh (#24) led the charge for the visitors, finishing the game with a team-high 9 points, including critical buckets in the fourth quarter.
Jaclyn Albaugh led the game in scoring with nine points while teammate Audra Turner had seven points.  Kayleigh Golden (#25) and Audrey Langham (#2) both led Windsor Knolls with five points each.

JV – Windsor Knolls 43  Monocacy 22   The JV Windsor Knolls Lady Wolverines hosted Monocacy on Saturday afternoon. The game opened with both teams trading baskets, matching each other bucket for bucket. At the end of the first quarter, Windsor Knolls held a 15–9 lead.
In the second quarter, Windsor Knolls’ press began to create problems for Monocacy, allowing the Wolverines to extend their advantage and take a 32–14 lead into halftime.
Monocacy continued to fight in the second half and controlled the boards throughout the third quarter, but Windsor Knolls maintained control and led 41–21 after three quarters. The fourth quarter turned into a defensive battle, with limited scoring from both teams. Windsor Knolls closed out the game with a 43–22 victory.
Monocacy was led in scoring by Manyacka with 9 points, followed by Martin with 6, Lee with 3, and Tanchik-Solovey and Serio with 2 points each. Windsor Knolls had nine players contribute offensively, led by Merriwether with 11 points and Chadwell-English with 10. Pydiganta added 5 points, while Crowell, Shelhorse, and Motes each scored 4. Burchick and Gecelosky had 2 points a piece, and Fox added 1.

V - Linganore 45 Poolesville 39    Saturday nights main event featured Linganore hosting Poolesville, and it did not disappoint. Linganore came out victorious 45-39 in the matchup of last seasons 2 JV champions. The game was tied @ half, Poolesville started the 4th quarter with a 1 point lead. The Lancer shooters got hot in the 4th quarter and finally pulled the Falcons out of their many zone defenses. The Lancers won the 4th quarter 13-6, and the game 45-39. Poolesville was led in scoring by Lily Weyrauch with 14 and helping her was Jayda Stanton(8 points), and Marley Mitchel(7 points). Natalie Corrigan strikes again with a game high, 24 points. Kennedy Poffenbarger scored all 8 of her points in the second half. McKinley Hinkle(7 points) and Tori Capone(6 points) got in on the fun as well.

JV - Linganore 36 Poolesville 21    In a competitive JV girls' basketball matchup at Linganore High School, the Lady Lancers hosted the Poolesville Falcons. Both teams brought strong energy in the first quarter, keeping the game close early on. However, Linganore pulled ahead by halftime with an 8-point lead, gaining the momentum needed to secure the victory. Linganore was paced by Brooklyn Keller (#14) and Sawyer Jones (#11), each scoring 8 points. Poolesville's top scorer was Grace Mays with 8 points.

V – Catoctin 47  Walkersville 27    Lady Cougars came out hot in the 1st quarter with big points from A. Morlan and A. Watson. Catoctin continued with great defense holding Walkersville to only 15 points in the first half of the game. 

Walkersville came alive in the 3rd quarter with Catoctin struggling to stay out of foul trouble. Catoctin rallied back with 11 points in the 4th quarter and held Walkersville to only 4 points. 

Walkersville’s H. McClellan had 6 points with K. Wareham (5) and P. Zile (4) added to the points. 

Catoctin’s A. Watson had 21 points with A. Morlan following behind with 14 points and 11 rebounds. P. Wills (5) and E. Case (5) added to the score. Huge steals from N. Schildt helped moved the Cougars towards the win. 

JV - Walkersville 36  Catoctin 14   Catoctin JV hosted Walkersville on Saturday evening. Walkersville started fast and got out to a 17-3 lead at half time. Catoctin came out strong in the 3rd scoring 11 of their 14 total points before Walkersville pulled away for a final score of 36-14. Walkersville was led by Jasmine Hinton with 14 points and Jaylynn Adams and Gwen Beaver both added 6 each. Catoctin was lead by Arabella Cantrell with 4 pts and Saniya Smitley and Peyton Wills adding 3 each.

V - Boonsboro 52   South Hagerstown 21  The Boonsboro Middle School varsity basketball team earned a convincing home victory over South Hagerstown Middle School, rolling to a 52–21 win.  Boonsboro set the tone early with strong defense and balanced scoring, building momentum throughout the game. Juls Wetzel led the Warriors with 11 points, knocking down two three-pointers to spark the offense. Maria Marquis followed closely with 9 points, while McKenna Luther contributed 6 points as Boonsboro consistently spread the scoring load.

South Hagerstown was led by Malaya Moore, who finished with a game-high 15 points. Moore showcased her shooting range by connecting on four three-pointers, accounting for the majority of her team’s offense.

Boonsboro’s defensive pressure and teamwork proved too much for South Hagerstown, as the home team controlled the pace from start to finish and secured the decisive 52–21 victory.

JV - Boonsboro 28   South Hagerstown 21      Boonsboro Middle School hosted South High Middle School on the hardwood and came away with a hard-fought 28–21 victory. Playing in front of their home crowd, Boonsboro set the tone early and maintained their edge throughout the contest.

Ellie Wiegand led the way for Boonsboro with a game-high 12 points, providing steady scoring on the offensive end. Bella Gordon contributed 4 points, while Cam Jennings added an important boost with a three-pointer that helped keep momentum on Boonsboro’s side.

South High Middle School was paced by Harmony Washington, who led her team with 11 points. Ra’dae Ray also turned in a strong performance, adding 6 points for South as they battled to stay within reach.

With balanced contributions and solid defense, Boonsboro protected their home court and secured the 28–21 win.

V - Smithsburg 38  Ballenger Creek 20    The Varsity Lady Bulldogs was back in action at the Bulldog arena against the Lady Leopards. The Lady Leopards sealed the win to remain undefeated 38-20. First quarter Lady Bulldogs started the game strong on both sides of the floor and took an early lead at the end of the first quarter 8-5. Second quarter Lady Bulldogs had trouble staying out of foul trouble and put the Lady Leopards to the line multiple times in the second quarter.  The Lady Bulldogs lead slipped away as the Lady Leopards went on a 12-2  run taking the lead 17-10. Second half Lady  Leopards jump out to a full court press causing  multiple turnovers from the Lady Bulldogs. The Lady Leopards continue to hold onto their lead at the end of the third quarter 30-14.  Fourth quarter both teams showed hustle and played from start to finish. The Lady Leopards prevailed and continue their undefeated streak. The Lady Bulldogs was led by Emily Le with 6 points. Clara Main and Jada Dawson chipped in 4 points. The Lady Leopards was led by Camryn Gouff with 13 points. Jazmine Tyler finished the game with 10 points. Vivian Malot chipped in 8 points.

JV – Ballenger Creek 37   Smithsburg 7    The Lady Jv Bulldogs hosted an undefeated Lady Leopards team. The Lady Bulldogs sealed their first win against the Lady Leopards 37-7. The Lady Bulldogs defense was the answer in the first quarter shutting out the Lady Leopards 12-0. Second quarter Lady Leopards Maggie Herbst hit an outside jumper putting the Lady Leopards on the board. Lady Bulldogs continue to shine on the offense side having 7 different players scoring in the first half taking the lead 21-2. Second half Lady Leopards started to put some pressure on the Lady Bulldogs full court trying to cut the lead down. Kenzie Pugh scored all 3 of the Lady Leopards points in the third quarter. Lady Bulldogs will hold onto the lead at the end of the third quarter 30-5. Lady Bulldogs finished the game strong and had 10 different scorers in today's contest. Great game by both the Lady Leopards and Lady Bulldogs. The Lady Leopard was led by Kenzie Pugh with 3 points. Taylor Clark and Maggie Herbst chipped in 2 points. The Lady Bulldogs was led by Jada Dawson with 10 points. Logan Achten with 4 points. Magic Warfield and Mia Allen chipped in 3 points.

V - Williamsport 43 South Hagerstown 8     Varsity South Hagerstown Lady Huskies couldn't keep up with Williamsport Wildcats Varsity Middle, 43-8, on Sunday at E. Russell Hicks Middle School. Williamsport went on a 22-point run to start the game.  Malaya Moore was the leading scorer for Varsity South Hagerstown Lady Huskies with eight points. Malaya Moore hit two threes for Varsity South Hagerstown Lady Huskies.

Trinity Brown led Williamsport in scoring with 13 points. Trinity Brown knocked down two shots from beyond the arc for Williamsport. Addy Butts (12 points), Madison Kloos (8 points), Charlotte Leasure (4 points), Elena Nguyen (4 points), and Makaiya Smith (2 points) also pitched in for Williamsport.

JV - South Hagerstown 25   Williamsport 22    JV South Hagerstown Lady Huskies squeaked past Williamsport Wildcats Girls JV Middle, 25-22, on Sunday. JV South Hagerstown Lady Huskies closed out three of four quarters ahead by one point. The Wildcats kept the game close the entire game, playing hard until the end.

Harmony Washington was the leading scorer for JV South Hagerstown Lady Huskies with 16 points and Addy Rhea led the Williamsport Wildcats JV Middle with 12 points. Harmony Washington knocked down two shots from beyond the arc for JV South Hagerstown Lady Huskies. JV South Hagerstown Lady Huskies passed the ball well with 10 assists on 10 made baskets. Avalon Macena contributed (7 points) and several critical rebounds, converting to assists and scores. Ra’dae Ray (2 points) also pitched in for JV South Hagerstown Lady Huskies. Additional scorers for Williamsport Wildcats were  Princess N. (4 points), Finley C. (4 points) and Aria B. (2 points).

V – Smithsburg 43  Boonsboro 39   This game featured an exciting matchup between Boonsboro and Smithsburg that came down to the wire. Boonsboro started strong, playing with confidence and executing efficiently on both ends of the court. Their early momentum allowed them to build a lead going into halftime, as Smithsburg struggled to find a consistent rhythm offensively. However, the second half told a different story — Smithsburg came out energized and began chipping away at the deficit with tougher defense and key baskets down the stretch. Despite Boonsboro’s efforts to maintain control, Smithsburg’s late surge proved too much, as Boonsboro’s shooting cooled off and turnovers proved costly. In the end, Smithsburg completed the comeback, handing Boonsboro a narrow defeat by just four points in a closely contested game. Leading scorers:  Smithsburg- Cam Gouff 14 points  Elyse Anderson 13 points

JV – Smithsburg 24   Boonsboro 20   In a hard-fought contest between county rivals, Smithsburg edged out Boonsboro for a narrow four-point win. The game was tight from the opening tip, with both teams battling to control the tempo and find rhythm offensively. Boonsboro played with energy early, keeping things close through strong defense and teamwork. Smithsburg’s balanced effort, however, gradually took over in the second half as they capitalized on Boonsboro turnovers and hit key free throws down the stretch. Despite a late push from Boonsboro, Smithsburg’s composure in the final minutes sealed the 24–20 victory, giving them a well-earned win in an exciting and competitive matchup.  Leading scorers:   Smithsburg- Quinn C 10 points Lucy K 5 points Maggie H 5 points  Boonsboro:   Atleigh Tolder 8 points  Bella Gordon 5 points

V - Crestwood 48 North Hagerstown 14   North Hagerstown Varsity hosted a dominating Crestwood Varsity team this Sunday. North Hagerstown never gave up, but the Crestwood offense could not be stopped. 
Crestwood’s Addie Murray led all scorers with 22 points. Elise Mills contributed with 7 pts and Heaven Burriss added 5 pts. 
North Hagerstown was led by Annabel Fulghum-Roles with 6 points. Emma Morris, Aniyah Ware, Reagynn Weeks, and Bilghie Normil each added 2 pts a piece. 

 

JV - North Hagerstown 29 Crestwood 26    North Hagerstown hosted Crestwood this Sunday afternoon and after a hard-fought battle on both sides, North Hagerstown came away with the win 29-26. North Hagerstown took the lead in the first quarter and by the third quarter, Crestwood closed the gap with only a 3 point difference. In the end, North Hagerstown defense held on for the win. 
Top scorers for North Hagerstown included Skye White with 10pts, Blessing Engemise with 5 pts and Naimeh Jalloh and Ryleigh Wilson each added 4pts.
For Crestwood, Addie Murray led all scorers with 15pts, Sienna Samson added 5pts, and Nia Bowins added 4pts.

V - Walkersville 36  Crestwood 11   Crestwood took on Walkersville today in a hard-fought contest. Walkersville was able to take control of the game, setting the tone early and maintaining the lead throughout.

Payton Zile led Walkersville with 10 points, followed by Gina Doubs with 7. Crestwood was led by Heaven Burriss, who finished with 5 points and continued to bring energy and effort on both ends of the floor.

JV - Walkersville 30  Crestwood 20    Crestwood JV faced Walkersville JV at Tuscarora High School in a competitive matchup. Both teams came out with strong energy in the first half, matching each other possession for possession. The first quarter ended in a defensive battle, with each team scoring just four points.

After halftime, Walkersville gained momentum, outscoring Crestwood 12–8 in the third quarter and maintaining control down the stretch.

For Crestwood, Addie Murray led the scoring with 12 points, while Sienna Sampson added six. Walkersville was led by Delilah Bartlett with eight points and Adeline Martin with five.

V - Brunswick 37  Clear Spring 30      Galilee Shullenbarger had a game high 16 points to lead Brunswick past a tough Clear Spring squad, 37-30.   This contest was a rematch of last year's first round overtime playoff game that saw Clear Spring emerge with the win.  The Railroaders used a solid man to man defense to limit Clear Spring offensively, and got key offensive production from Kayla Ciccarelli (8 points) and Katie Paschalides (6 points).  Josie Spevak added 4 points for Brunswick, while Harper Hahn and Jollene Droneburg also added points.  For Clear Spring, Alyssa led the way with 7 points, while Piper and Violet added 6 apiece.  Charis, LB, and Julia also scored for Clear Spring. 

JV - Brunswick 16  Clear Spring 15    The Railroaders used a stifling defense to hold on for a 16-15 win over Clear Spring.  At one point, Brunswick led 10-4, before Clear Spring began chipping away and eventually was able to take the lead.  However, Brunswick got a couple of key buckets late and was able to hang on for the victory when Harper Wagoner grabbed a game sealing rebound with just two seconds left on the clock.  

Leading Clear Springs in scoring was lauralyn Blair with five points, followed by Lizzy Roderick and Amanda Robinson with three. Mia Weaver and Bella Fugate each scored two points.

Brunswick had a balanced scoring attack led by Adrienne Tuckers four points, followed by Alondra Perez, Emma Higgins and Jubille Schellenbarger each with three points and Nora Tritch and Harper Wagoner followed with two and one points.

V – West Frederick 53  FSK 17      Strong Performances Lead Lady Cadets Past FSK 53-17, on Saturday 13 December. Lady Cadets went on an 18-point run to start the game. The first quarter was the best for Lady Cadets, as they outscored FSK 20-2. The Eagles closed the gap a bit in the second quarter scoring 8 and holding the Cadets to 12 points. Lady Cadets had a strong first half, leading 32-10 at halftime and never looked back, securing the victory.

Lady Cadets rebounded the ball well, collecting 33 rebounds. Timm led the team with 12 rebounds. Lady Cadets passed the ball well with nine assists on 23 made baskets. Lady Cadets swiped 23 steals in the game. Swanson led the team with five steals. Lady Cadets were led in scoring by guards Kadence Seales and Shaniah Swanson who scored 15 points each. Also contributing for Lady Cadets were Nuria Timm (10 points), Reagan Henderson (6 points), and Madeline Brooks (4 points). Top scorers for the Eagles was Nadalie Rill with 9 points and Reese Smith with 4 points. 53-17 Cadets

JV – West Frederick 40  FSK 11      West Frederick Middle School JV Cadets played FSK Middle School and won 40 to 11. The score may be a little lopsided but the play from both teams was high octane! Each team played to their strengths as much as possible. The Cadets high scores were #11 Chapman with 13 points followed by Taylor #5 with 11 points and #24 Brand with 8 points.

For FSK their leading scorers were Ryleigh Fogle #21 with 7 points and Moresih Grent #23 with 4 points.

V - Urbana 53 Middletown 34  The Hawks hosted the Knights for their home opener, with the Hawks coming out victorious on a physical, hard fought match. The first half both teams were trading baskets, with the Knights leading after the first quarter 11-9. The Knights aggressiveness and offensive rebounding forced the Hawks into foul trouble, but the Hawks continued to battle and made timely baskets to knot it up 21-21 at the half.  The second half was a tale of two stories. The Hawks grew their lead to eight from a barrage of three pointers including a buzzer beating three by Brooklyn Weidling to end the quarter. The Hawks scrappy and aggressive defense held the Knights to three points in the final quarter. With a balanced attack, the Hawks continued to expand their lead and never looked back, resulting in a 53-34 victory. The Knights were led by Regan Murphy with 16 points. Charlotte Moore and Stella Fogle chipped in six points a piece. The Hawks scoring was paced by Dakota Washington with 17 points, followed up with Brooklyn Walder (13), Brooklyn Weidling (7), Bella Muniz (6), and Makayla Randolph (5).

JV - Urbana 27 Middletown 22   The Knights visited Urbana for the Hawks' first home game of the season, with the Hawks coming out on the winning end of a tough battle, 27-22.  The first half was back-and-forth for 14 minutes, with the Hawks taking the lead in the first, but the Knights clawed back in the second quarter with some balanced scoring to tie things up at half.  The 3rd quarter saw Middletown, again with balanced scoring and solid defense, taking a five point lead going into the final stanza.  Urbana came out focused in the fourth, forcing turnovers and turning them into points, with Dru Joseph putting up 7 points and Caroline Suarez hitting the boards, to spearhead the comeback for a Hawks' win.  Many Knights chipped in for Middletown in the scorebook, with Brylee Cameron, Sydney Rankin and Evangeline Wilson scoring four apiece; Caroline Souder, Isabelle Hannon and Hannah Coon accounting for three points each and Samantha Morders adding one point.  The Hawks were lead in scoring by Suarez with 12 and Joseph with seven.  Hitting the boards for the Hawks was Suarez with 12, Joseph with six, Annie Boyer with five, Leni Tsurapas with three, Sloka Vooturi with two and Evie Pettis, Grace Aderhold and Laila Witherspoon with one apiece.  Leading the way in the steal column for the Hawks were Vooturi and Witherspoon with five each, Boyer with four, Naomi Shorts and Joseph with three and Julia Ackley and Pettis with one each.

V – Oakdale 45  Ballenger Creek 24   The Varsity Lassus Bulldogs had their home opener against the Lady Bears. The Lady Bears defeated the Lady Bulldogs 45-24. First quarter both teams struggled to get an offense going. The Lady Bulldogs found there offensive rhythm at the end of the first quarter taking the lead 13-5. Second quarter Lady Bears defensive pressure forced multiple steals and transition points and the Lady Bears would extend their lead at the half 24-9. Second half the Lady Bears guard Gabby Gonzales came out hot on the offensive side for the Lady Bears scoring 7 points in the third quarter. Fourth quarter the Lady Bulldogs would not give up scoring 10 points with leadership from Amaya Darrell and Arianna Tineo. Lady Bears would seal the victory and prevail in Saturday afternoon contest. The Lady Bulldogs was led by Amaya Darrell and Arianna with 7 points. Jada Dawson chipped in 4 points. The Lady Bears was led by Gabby Gonzales and Faith Bigham with 14 points. Prisca Apenou chipped in 9 points. 

JV – Oakdale 23  Ballenger Creek 16    The Lady JV  Bulldogs was in action for their home opener against the Lady Bears. The Lady Bears remained undefeated sealing the win 23-16. The Lady Bulldogs was off to a great start taking the lead 3-0 in the beginning of the first quarter. the Lady Bears answered back and tied the game at the end of the first quarter 5-5. Second quarter the Lady Bears forced multiple turnovers and put the pressure on and took the lead at half 12-8. Second half Lady Bears started to extend the lead shutting the Lady Bulldogs out in the third quarter taking the lead 20-8 at the end of the third quarter. Fourth quarter the Lady Bulldogs didn't give up and cut the Lady Bears lead to 5. Lady Bulldogs ball pressure force turnovers but as time expired the Lady Bears would prevailed. The Lady Bulldogs was led by Clara Main with 8 points. Peyton Blanc chipped in 4 points. Lucy Wiese and Jada Dawson added 2 points. The Lady Bears was led by Adrianna Allewein with 5 points. Ring Tazisong and Anna Mills contribute 4 points. Reagan McElwee added 3 points. 

 

 

 

Game Summaries for 12/10/25

 

V - Linganore 41 Catoctin 29   The Lady Lancers made the mid week trip to visit the Lady Cougars in the rematch of the last season Championship game. The Lady Lancer came to compete, bringing great defense and a steady Natalie Corrigan on offense. The Lady Lancer pulled away in the 1st quarter with a small lead with big points from McKinley Hinkle. The Lady Cougars attempted to fight back and put a stop to the Lady Lancer offense but struggled to regain control.  The Lady Lancers pulled the lead wide open in the 3rd quarter with solid defense and great rebounding by Tori Capone and Kennedy Poffenbarger. With a couple of injuries to the Lady Cougars, they were brought to their knees and the loss.

Lady Lancers Natalie Corrigan had 15 points with Tori Capone (7) and McKinley Hinkle (8) following close behind. 

The Lady Cougars had Abby Morlan putting up 9 points with Alice Watson (8), Ellaina Casey (6) and Peyton Wills (5) adding to the score. 

JV - Linganore 41 Catoctin 29   Linganore JV defeated Catoctin JV 55-13. Harper Poehlman from Linganore led all scorers with 16. Gabrielle Day added 13 with both Quinn Chandler and Sawyer Jones adding 10 a piece. Peyton Wills led Catoctin with 6 points.

V - Boonsboro 52  North Hagerstown 16   In their season opener, North Hagerstown Queens hosted the Boonsboro Warriors. The warriors commanded a 2-16 run in the first quarter. North Hagerstown never gave up, but was not able to overcome the Warriors offense. The final score was 16-52. 

Sophia Wilson and Emma Morris each contributed 7 points for North Hagerstown. 

Julianna Wetzel lead Boonsboro with 19 points. Morgan Molesky added 9 points

JV - Boonsboro 30  North Hagerstown 28    In a tightly contested season opener for North Hagerstown, the Boonsboro JV warriors came away with the win.  The warriors took the lead in the 1st quarter 2-11. North Hagerstown fought back hard, but ultimately fell short with a final score of 28-30. 

Annabel Fulghum-Roles lead North Hagerstown with 10 points. Blessing Engemise and Skye White each contributed 9 points. 

Delany Slough lead Boonsboro with 9 points. Atleigh Tolder added 8 points. Bella Gordon and Elle Wiegand each added 5 points. 

V – Clear Spring 36 Williamsport 32    In and overtime thriller, Clear Spring comes from behind in the fourth to win in overtime 36-32 over Williamsport. Williamsport would come out tough in the first half, making shots and knocking down free throws to take an 18-12 lead into halftime. The Blazers would close the lead down to three points by the end of the 3rd quarter leading to an epic finish in the fourth and overtime. Both teams would lock in as Williamsport had a five-point lead with a little over two minutes left in the game, however the Blazers would not give up. Thanks to an and one along with some clutch free throws by Stewart Clear Spring would tie the game up with 15 seconds left in the game. The game would go into overtime in which both teams would battle with all they had. Clear Spring would come out on top winning overtime by four points. Great game by both teams! Leading scorers for Williamsport were Brown and Koerting with 6 points, Kloos with 7 points, and Butts with 8 points. Leading scorers for the Blazers were Stewart with 14 points (10 of 12 from the stripe) and Hensley with 9 points.   

JV – Clear Spring 29 Williamsport 18    The Lady Blazers JV hosted Williamsport JV Winning 29-18. In a tight game through the first half both teams would trade buckets back and forth as Clear Spring would take a 17-12 halftime lead. After halftime, Williamsport would come out tough and tie the game at 17-17 before the Blazers would score late in the 3rd to keep a three-point advantage. The 4th quarter would prove to be the deciding factor as foul trouble would plague both teams, however Clear Spring would win the fourth quarter 9-1, resulting in a 29-18 Clear Spring win. Leading scorers for Williamsport were Rhea with 10 and Bitoni with 6 points. Leading scorers for Clear Spring were Greene with 4, Rhodrick and Blair with 6 points, and Robinson with 12 points. 

V – Brunswick 34  South Hagerstown 14    Varsity South Hagerstown Lady Huskies couldn't keep up with Brunswick Mid-Md Varsity Girls, 34-14, on Sunday at E. Russell Hicks Middle School.   Brunswick Mid-Md Varsity Girls went on a 21-point run to start the game.  The fourth quarter was the best for Varsity South Hagerstown Lady Huskies, as they outscored Brunswick Mid-Md Varsity Girls 7-6.

Malaya Moore scored nine points to lead Varsity South Hagerstown Lady Huskies. Donata Honvo also contributed for Varsity South Hagerstown Lady Huskies scoring five points.

Kayla Ciccarelli scored 12 points to lead Brunswick Mid-Md Varsity Girls. Additional scorers for Brunswick Mid-Md Varsity Girls included Galilee Shullenbarger (6 points), Jollene Droneburg (4 points), Josie Spevak (3 points), Kensie Santana (3 points), Katie Paschalides (2 points), Maggie Kay (2 points), and Ruby Renn (2 points).

JV – Brunswick 28  South Hagerstown 23    JV South Hagerstown Lady Huskies couldn't complete a comeback against Brunswick Junior Varsity Railroaders, falling 28-23 on Sunday at E. Russell Hicks Middle School. Brunswick Junior Varsity Railroaders led by as many as 11 points before hanging on for the win.

JV South Hagerstown Lady Huskies' Harmony Washington put up 12 points for the team.  The game was tied at six when Brunswick Junior Varsity Railroaders went on a 9-2 run to take the lead. The game was tied at 15 when Brunswick Junior Varsity Railroaders went on an 11-point run to take the lead. Brunswick Junior Varsity Railroaders pulled away in the second half after the game was tied at 15 at halftime. JV South Hagerstown Lady Huskies controlled the second quarter, outscoring Brunswick Junior Varsity Railroaders 7-0.

Avalon Macena and Ra’dae Ray each collected seven rebounds to lead JV South Hagerstown Lady Huskies on the glass. Additional scorers for JV South Hagerstown Lady Huskies included Ra’dae Ray (7 points) and Avalon Macena (4 points).

V - Catoctin 30  Oakdale 17   Oakdale and Catoctin came out of the gates ready to play defense today. The Lady Cougars held the Lady Bears to minimal points with a 9-2 lead after the first quarter. 

The defensive battle continued into the second quarter, but Oakdale was able to chip away at the deficit with a few points from Gabby Gonzalez, Faith Bigham, and a buzzer beater three pointer from Tallulah Hammel to close the half. The Bears trailed by three, 10-13, going into the half. 

The third quarter was a replay of the first with both teams coming out with strong defense, and Catoctin outscoring Oakdale with Abigail Morlan’s three pointer and free throws. The Bears were on a rebounding mission, led by Desiray Djoko (six) and Faith Bigham (five) with Paige VanLeeuwen and Hammel pulling down (three), and Briley Schreiber (two).

It was not until the fourth where Catoctin gained momentum and produced the only double-digit scoring quarter of the game, with Watson scoring five of her 12 and Morlan four of her 11. Oakdale tried to close the gap with three made free throws by Delainey Jenner (two) and Schreiber (one), and Gonzales’ additional field goal. 

Additional contributors to the Lady Bears were VanLeeuwen and Sophie Davis, each with two. While Austin Droneburg and Ellaina Case rounded out the Lady Cougars with four and three points, respectively.

JV - Oakdale 33  Catoctin 18     The Lady Bears hosted the Lady Cougars for each team’s second game of the weekend. The Bears scored early with three field goals and three free throws to end the first half with Oakdale leading Catoctin 9-0. Catoctin answered back in the second quarter with six points, while holding Oakdale to just four points ending the half with a score 13-6. 

The Lady Bears came out of the halftime break with a new energy and outscored the Lady Cougars by 10. Rishikka Nelluri and Anna Mills got hot on the boards this quarter and led Oakdale’s rebounds with eight and six, respectively. 

But, Catoctin was not ready to throw in the towel. They kept Oakdale contained in the fourth, by allowing only four points for the Lady Bears and dropping six points themselves.

Scoring contributions from Oakdale came from Reagan McElwee (10), Adriana Elshafy-Allwein (7), Nelluri (6), Rina Tazisong (4), and Olivia Davis, Kaitlyn Angelberger, and Raelyn Scritchfield (2). 

Catoctin scorers were Bella Cantrell (8), Addison Kreitz (4), and Saniya Smitley, Emma Santos, and Peyton Wills (2). 

V - West Frederick 47 Crestwood 7  Crestwood opened the season at home against a strong West Frederick squad, falling 47–7. West Frederick took control early and dictated the pace on both ends of the floor, steadily widening the gap as the game went on.

Despite the uphill battle, the Lady Cavaliers kept grinding. Addie Murray led Crestwood with four hard-earned points, while Antoinette Ahoua added two. Heaven Burriss brought plenty of hustle throughout the night, giving her team energy when they needed it most.

West Frederick was led by Shaniah Swanson with a game-high 15 points, followed by Kadence Seals with 11.

JV - West Frederick 34 Crestwood 19    West Frederick came out swinging, piling up 14 points in the opening quarter to seize early control. Crestwood, however, refused to back down. They stayed steady, kept grinding, and clawed their way back into it with a fierce 13–2 run in the fourth quarter that showed real grit and heart.

Addie Murray led Crestwood with a tough, well-earned 15 points, while Zia Roy added four. For West Frederick, Brandon matched Murray’s output with 15 points to pace the offense, and Chapman contributed six to help West Frederick with the victory. 

V – Linganore 46 Walkersville 17    Walkersville’s Varsity Girls hosted

Linganore on Sunday evening. Linganore came out swinging and Walkersville was not

going down without a fight. Both teams stayed aggressive until the very end. Linganore

was led by Natalie Corrigan with 19 points and Taylor Harris with 10 points. Walkersville

was led by Gina Douds with 8 points.

JV - Linganore 36 Walkersville 18 The Lady Lions hosted Linganore Sunday evening.

Walkersville was looking for their first win of the season and came out fighting. But

Linganore was not going to let this be an easy game. Walkersville was led by Jasmine

Hinton, Jayla Smith, and Jay’lynn Adams with 4 points each. Linganore was led by

Harper Poehlman with 16 points and Gabrielle Day with 6 points.

V - Mt Airy 57  Ballenger Creek 45     In an exciting rematch from last year’s championship, Mount Airy defeats Ballenger Creek 57-45. Mount Airy was led by Julissa Almonte with 27 points and Maddie Hawkins with 20. Olivia Meyers with 23 points almost led Ballenger creek to a thrilling 4th quarter comeback. Cadence Sprau kept up Mount Airy’s energy with great rebounding and defense.

JV - Mt Airy 32   Ballenger Creek 21    Mt Airy hosted Ballenger Creek in the season opener for both teams. It was tightly contested throughout, with Mt Airy jumping out to a 17-11 halftime lead thanks to Ashlynn Harrisons 11 first half points. Ballenger Creek battled back with Clara Main scoring 4 third quarter points cutting the lead to 21-18 going into the fourth quarter. Ballengers press forced some late turnovers but 2 key baskets from Micaela Uzzo sealed the win. Emily Le led Ballenger with 13 points and Clara Main added 6. For Mt Airy, Harrison finished with a game high 15 points, while Maddy Janyska contributed 6 points and Bianca Roman finished with 4.

V - POOLESVILLE 45 WINDSOR KNOLLS 31     Poolesville and Windsor Knolls both came out ready to play, with a very close first half.  Windsor Knolls led slightly through the first quarter, given a boost from Poolesville's foul trouble, scoring four points in free throws.  Ella Muise’s shooting for Windsor Knolls helped them end the first quarter up by two.  Ella ended the game with eight points.  In the second quarter, Audrey Langham’s two three-point baskets gave Windsor Knolls a lead until Poolesville’s Addy White ended the half with an exciting three-pointer buzzer shot, giving Poolesville a one point lead at the half. Langham was top scorer in the first half with 11 points.  

In the third quarter, both teams came out strong, but Jayda Stanton from Poolesville stood out with some great drives and free throw shooting that helped Poolesville stretch their lead to 34-28. The quarter ended with another exciting buzzer shot, this time a three-pointer sunk by Windsor Knolls Macey Cox. In the fourth quarter Poolesville pulled ahead and Windsor Knolls struggled to get their shots to fall.  Top scorer for Poolesville:  Stanton with 20 and Reagan Mayer with nine.

JV - Windsor Knolls 34  Poolesville 21    The JV Windsor Knolls Wolverines hosted the Poolesville Falcons on Sunday afternoon, and WK came out firing from the opening tip. The Wolverines set the tone early, locking in on both ends of the floor and taking a 12–3 lead after the first quarter. Their full-court press and dominance on the boards continued in the second, stretching the margin to 25–5 at halftime.

The Falcons showed plenty of grit in the second half, clawing their way back by holding Windsor Knolls to just two points in the third quarter and cutting the deficit to 27–10. Poolesville kept battling in the fourth, but the Wolverines held on as time ran out.

Poolesville was led by M. Stewart with 7 points, followed by G. Mays and L. Hoffman with 4 points each. L. Schmidt, C. Layne, and E. Devine added 2 points a piece.

Windsor Knolls was paced by C. Merriwether, who poured in 18 points. R. Motes and V. Pydiganta chipped in 4 each, with M. Crowell scoring 3, A. Shellhorse and L. Chadwell-English added 2 a piece, and T. Fox rounding it out with 1 point.

 

 

 

Game Summaries for 12/6/25

 

V - West Frederick 56 Walkersville 16     The Lady Cadets Girls Varsity team hosted and won their season opener 52-16 against the Walkersville Lions on Saturday December  6, 2025. The Cadets started out strong with guards Shaniah Swanson and Kadence Seales sinking three pointers getting on the board early ending the first quarter 13-6 Cadets. The Cadets Cally Romano and Kadence Seales hit back to back three pointers which the Lions Bryann Ambush responded with one of her own. The Cadets aggressive defense added a few fouls putting the Lions on the free throw line where they were able to capitalize as four of their nine points came from the line. The Lions trailed the Cadets going in to half time 28-9 Cadets . The Cadets stretched their lead during the third quarter allowing every player to get on the board. Cadets went in to the final quarter with a lead 45-14. Top scorer leading all scorers was the Cadets Shaniah Swanson with 17 points. Other top scorers for the Cadets were Kadence Seales with 15 points, Cally Romano and Anaelle Kwadjambou each with 5 points. Top scorers for the Lions were Brynn Ambush, Payton Zile, and Gina Doubs each with 3 points. 52-16 Cadets

JV - West Frederick 40  Walkersville 20     The West Frederick Cadets JV girls basketball team battled against Walkersville Loins and set the tone  with the Cadets winning for their season opener 40 to 20 against Walkersville . The score is not indicative of the play that both teams showed in hustling and determination of playing to each potential. It was a great game of fundamental basketball  and very exciting!

#11 Champman scored 17 points followed behind, #34 Taylor who scored 8 points and #15 Grace who scored 5. On the Walkersville side, #4 Brown had 5 points followed behind, #1 Beaver scored 4 points.  

V - Smithsburg 44 Clear Spring 26    Smithsburg was led by Cam Gouff with a game high 17 points and 8 rebounds.  Viv Malott had 12 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists for the game.

Jazmine Tyler chipped in with 9 points and 7 rebounds.

Clear Spring was led by Julia Brown with 10 points.

JV - Smithsburg 31 Clear Spring 26    Kenzie Pugh led Smithsburg with 10 points, including 2 3 pointers. Lucy Krumpe and Maggie Herbst added 7 points and 6 points for the game.

Clear Spring leading scorers was Amanda Robinson and Bella Greene with

10 points each. 

V – Middletown 30  Boonsboro 19    The Middletown Knights claimed a varsity win, leveraging their superior size and the scoring output of Charlotte Moore, who led all players with 15 points. The Knights effectively exploited their physical advantage, dominating the boards and converting crucial points from inside the paint, with Avery Sacchetti adding four points and a balanced effort seeing multiple players contribute two points each. For the Boonsboro Lady Warriors, the scoring was paced by Caroline Plumadore and Morgan Molesky, who both with five points, followed by four points apiece from Harper Mullendore and Juls Wetzel. While the Lady Warriors successfully increased the pace of the game and defensive deflections, but they were unsuccessful in the offense to come back from the point deficit.  

JV – Middletown 33  Boonsboro 6   Middletown's junior varsity girls' basketball team secured a convincing victory, fueled by leading scorer Brylee Cameron, who dominated the offensive end with 16 points. E. Wilson provided a crucial secondary scoring threat, adding 6 points to the effort. The true difference-maker, however, was Middletown's relentless defense. The team employed a high-pressure strategy that resulted in multiple steals and put constant stress on Boonsboro's ball handlers throughout the game. For Boonsboro, the scoring was limited, with Atleigh Tolder and Bella Gordon each contributing two points; each coming from the free throw line. 

V - Oakdale 35  Crestwood 11      For the season opener, The Lady Bears and Lady Cavaliers started with a strong defensive matchup. Led by a team effort, Oakdale’s Faith Bigham was able to hit the boards and provide 10 points of her game total (14), which allowed the Lady Bears to take the lead 17-8 at halftime. 

The second half brought more life to Oakdale and the Lady Bears outscored the Lady Cavaliers 18-3. Many Bears rounded out Bigham’s double-digit game: Tallulah Hammel (6), Prisca Apenou (5), Gabby Gonzalez and Paige VanLeeuwen (4), and Desiray Djoko (2).

Lady Cavalier scorers were Addie Murray (4), Marie-Antoinette Ahoua (3), and Jayla Bowens and Heaven Burris (2). 

JV - Oakdale 45  Crestwood  8   The Lady Bears welcomed the Lady Cavaliers into The Den for each team’s season opener. Both squads shook off early season jitters after committing a few turnovers but Oakdale finished the first quarter strong with an 8 to 0 lead. 

Raelyn Scritchfield, Reagan McElwee, and Adriana Elshafey-Allewin were a nuisance for the Lady Cavaliers on defense in the middle two quarters. Oakdale’s fast break combos led to a majority of McElwee’s team high score of 16 points. The fast breaks coupled with multiple threes from Kaitlyn Angelberger, Elshafey-Allewin, and Scritchfield contributed to Oakdale’s 38-6 lead at the end of the third quarter. 

Crestwood came out fighting in the last quarter and held Oakdale to just seven points. Additional Lady Bears contributed to the win: Elshafey-Allewin (7), Kayla DiPaolo (6), Angelberger (5), Nolke (4), Davis and Nelluri (2).

The following Lady Cavaliers scored for Crestwood: Addie Murray (4) and Kyla Burgos and Zia Roy, each with two points. 

V - Catoctin 46  Urbana 29     First game of the season for both teams coming to the floor strong. Catoctin’s team showed up hot with a total of 32 points in the first half of the game. Catoctin’s team was able to break the zone press and continue to push the ball down the court. 

Urbana pulled up in the second half of the game with putting up 22 points and pushing back at Catoctin’s defense. 

Catoctin’s Watson shot a total of 21 points with Case (11) and Morlan (9) following behind. Solid rebounding and steals kept the Catoctin girls in the game. Urbana’s Murphy had 8 points with Walder (5), Insari (4) and Weidling (4) all adding points. 

JV - Urbana 40 - Catoctin 19    Urbana's mid Maryland girls JV team defeated the Catoctin JV girls 40-19. Leading the way for Urbana was Sloka Vooturi and Caroline Suarez with 8 points a piece. Catoctin was led by Addison Kreitz with 7 points.

V - Monocacy 47 FSK 28    On a cold Saturday morning in December the Monocacy Varsity girls came out to Union Bridge on fire and posted a 32 to 10 halftime lead. But in a tale of two halves, FSK did not give up and even out paced Monocacy by two points in the second half. But it was to much to over come the first half deficit. Leading scorers for Monoacay were Jaclyn Albaugh with 13 points and Hazel Gomez with nine points. Leading scorers for FSK were Nadalie Rill with eight points and Ella Wolfenden with six points.

JV - Monocacy 40 FSK 8      In their season opener, FSK would host Monocacy's JV team Saturday morning at FSK High School.  The game began with a 16-2 run in the first quarter in favor of Monocacy, as the FSK girls worked out their first game nerves.  The JV Lady eagles and Monocacy would battle for rebounds in the paint all game led by Madison Laney and Moreisha Grant from FSK and McKayla Boateng from Monocacy.  Monocacy would pull away to finish the game with a 40-8 win. Princess Tanchik-Solevery led Monocacy with 9 points followed by London Martin with 8 points herself. FSK girls never gave up and played hard. Ryleigh Fogle and Moreisha Grant both sinking 3 points each.

 

 

Game Summaries for 11/30/25

V- Brunswick 35   Williamsport 32    In a tightly contested season opener, Brunswick came away with a 35-32 victory over Williamsport.  Kayla Ciccarelli led the Railroaders with 15 points, while Josie Spevak added eight.   Galilee Shullenbarger, Katie Paschalides, Karis Phillips and Skylar French also chipped in with points for Brunswick.  

Williamsport was led in scoring by Ada Butts with 15 and Trinity Brown with 11.  Madison Kloos, Charlotte Leasure and Malaya Smith rounded out the scoring for Williamsport.  

Brunswick led 16-15 at halftime, and the score stayed with four points the rest of the way.  The Railroader defense clamped down in the final minutes to preserve the victory.  

JV -  Brunswick 14 Williamsport 6   In a defensive battle and slow start for both teams in the season opener, Brunswick pulled out a 14-6 home victory. Williamsport came out and took a 6-4 halftime lead thanks to Findley Chambers three points, Aria Bitonti’s two points and Addy Rhea contributing one point. Brunswick shut out Williamsport 10-0 in the second half to hold on for the win

Leading scorers for Brunswick were Nora Tritch, Emma Higgins and Sydney Babstidner each with four points and Gemma Gowden added two points.

V - Poolesville 42  Monocacy 14   In the season opener for both teams Poolesville jumped out to a 14-0 lead and with an aggressive defense cruised to a 42 - 14 win over Monocacy.Jayda Stanton led Poolesville with 10 points,with Lily Weyrauch adding 7 points.Addy White hit two three-pointers scoring 6 points.Monocacy got 6 points from Jaclyn Albaugh.

JV - Monocacy 31 Poolesville 20    Monocacy and Poolesville JV teams met Sunday afternoon at Thomas Johnson High School to open the Mid-Maryland Season.  The game began as a defensive battle.  Poolesville found its offensive groove first and took an 8-4 lead at the end of the first quarter.  Poolesville extended it's lead to 14-8 at halftime with three second quarter field goals from Lilly Schmidt.  Monocacy settled down after the half and got field goals from Princess Tanchik-Solovey, Amaya Lee and Jocelyn Neely.  Monocacy took a 18-17 lead at the end of the third quarter.  Monocacy carried the momentum into the fourth quarter and converted seven of eight free throws (London Martin with four and Princess Tanchik-Solevery with three).  Monocacy cruised to a 31-21 win.  Monocacy's Princess Tanchik-Solovey led all scorers with 20 points followed by Amaya Lee with 5, London Martin with 4 and Jocelyn Neely with 2 points.  Mia Steward led Poolesville with 9 points, followed by Lilly Schmidt with 6, Bella Armenta with 4 and Grace Mays with 2 points.

V – Windsor Knolls 48 Clear Spring 18    The Lady Blazers hosted Windsor Knolls on a post Thanksgiving Sunday, which Windsor Knolls won 43-18. The Knolls would come out ready to play taking an early lead behind Langham’s seven first quarter points. The Blazers would make it a game with tough defense to finish the half at a score of 19-13 Knolls. The Blazers couldn’t buy a bucket in the second half of the game and the Knolls would convert on the other side to pull away for the victory 43-18. Blazers leading scorer was Brown with 8 points. Langham for the Knolls led all scorers with 19 points, along with balanced scoring from Golden and Molnar with 7points each and Shearer with 5 points.

JV – Windsor Knolls 45 Clear Spring 14  The Lady Blazers JV hosted The JV Wolverines of Windsor Knolls who would win 45-14. The first quarter saw a close game as teams were getting their feet wet in this brand-new season ending 11-7 Wolverines. However, the Knolls would turn it on in the second quarter with balanced scoring to take a 22-7 lead into halftime. The second half the Wolverines would come out hot and create some turn overs adding 10 points to their lead. The final score would be 45-14 Wolverines. The Blazers were led by Robinson with 5 points. The Wolverines balanced attack had nine girls on the box score, led by Merriweather with 10 points.  

V - Smithsburg 52 South Hagerstown 15

Smithsburg rowed out to a 19 to 0 at the end of the first quarter, and never looked back. Smithsburg was led by Cam Gouff with a game high with 13 points and 11 rebounds.    Viv Malott added 11 points and 7 assists, and Jazmine Tyler chipping with 10 points and 5 assists.   South Hagerstown was led by Malaya Moore with 10 points.

Smithsburg was led by Quinn Cline with 9 points.  South was led by Harmony Washington and Radae Ray with 7 points each.
